Sh4R3 OR Di3, Really???

cablemonstar RetroDJ on February 24th, 2016 / post 69208
Who is responsible for writing Sh4R3 OR Di3 on all the ID tags?? Its really annoying, i mean really, Die if you dont share??
I have a massive collection of music, especially live sets from the 1990's to present so the last thing i want to see in the heading of a decent collection is Sh4R3 OR Di3 !!!
Ive always shared my collection in the form of file sharing and a lot of it is very rare, so if anyone chooses not to pass it on surely thats their choice, i dont want them to Die!
I get the whole torrent sharing thing, i just cant get my head around changing ID tags. Its pointless.

The simple answer is if it annoys you that much,  don't download the torrent :-/
cablemonstar RetroDJ on February 25th, 2016 / post 69211
Yeah i could take the simple choice of not downloading the torrent, however some of the torrents are decent and convenient plus sharing is caring right? Its just the whole tag editing, i mean these torrents have been put together really well and in many cases really vey prompt, but to put a stamp on all the tags baffles me.
I do appreciate the time and effort people put into uploading torrents and in no way do i mean to wind anyone up the wrong way!

if you were to "share" all of or at least a tiny part of your vastest music collection, and wanted to include your name or tag into every filename and id-tags, i, for one, would be really grateful, i would also ignore the fact that your name and/or tag are included in every possible place, so grateful i'd be for being able to get your collection... that is for example, of course...

Of course! Believe me gratitude isnt something im afraid of showing, as i have said i appreciate the time and effort that everyone uses to share said torrents. Although ignoring the tags and the extra text in the filename isnt something i could do, i will obviously continue to be eternally grateful for the effort that has been put in to deliver such great torrents.
I still wont be able to get my head around the whole Sh4R3 OR Di3 in the titles and on pretty much every songle tag! But thats just me

Don't take a tag like that so serious. For my case i. e. Sh4r3 or Di3 was just a very harsh suggestion to really share certain torrents and from a today's perspective I need to say, that that being so harsh sometimes unfortunately is necessary, because the majority of the people doesn't care and only try to take take take to amass as many things as they possibly can. I learned that one doesn't need to give back to the person from which one got something, but one definitely needs to give back, not doing so causes harm to onesself and leaves one alone with many things that make oneself unhappy because noone is there to enjoy them together with oneself.

Writing ones own name into the ID-tags I see as critical as you, because it's simply annoying, which is why I edit that out in all torrents I publish, I want a torrent to be clean with only the necessary information in it and if one really does things because one feels that they're good and because one does them for oneself, then writing ones name onto something also isn't necessary.

What's really bad though is, that those files have filenames that are so long, that it's not possible to move them around on the harddisk without renaming them. Still, I'm grateful that Family Club publishes so many torrents of such awesome music, but I wrote to him already with telling him that a torrent doesn't necessarily needs to be named "torrent recorded on date xx-xxx-xx with a recorder on the radio x which is a good radio and the concert was played in a massive hall with 735 visitors via a sound system that was very loud and everybody really enjoyed the party so I publish this (nickname)" .

Re editing tags isnt a problem, its just a ball ache. But whatever, if it means thats what has to be done then so be it.
The torrents are great so i can live with it.
One last thing, for someone who doesnt speak english, sure writes enough of it!

he uses google translate.. it's complicated... =)
cablemonstar RetroDJ on March 3rd, 2016 / post 69255
Fair enough, i guess that explains a lot. Reading something wrote in English may translate to people in numerous ways especially if the person writing the text doesnt fully understand how people will react to it. Kudos for writing universal text even though its complicated.
