Andy misses the old techno thread

Do we really have to prove it, when you have soulless minimal, utter same synth, same sounds shite. Listening to Jeff Mills and Laurent Garnier - I Love Techno 1999 and Dave Clarke 1999 I Love Techno, same goes for Luke Slater (before he went a little wonky!)...Just fast, hard techno and injured your ears but it was class!

That is techno lads!....with the bass hurting...where you want to be there and at the front of the bassbins! Drumcell, Dustin Zahn are doing some of it but we need more class tunes and more nasty stuff!

Its all gone shite these days, not many are making decent shit anymore. Even Slam has gone weird, they were quality techno and tech house!!!!!. Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin (EM 2001, nuff said) are playing weak shite..

anyone disagree?

:thankyou:

i disagree, i actually like today's techno better with more bass and more minimal backdrops. but of course classics like garnier played back then can't be forgotten, that's when he did proper techno sets, not what he does today, some gibberish. so see, in this little example we got ying yeng turnaround while one "side" (garnier) lost it (for me) over the years, the other side (techno) have become more enjoyable..

but the minimal era was terrible, just seeing who could bore each other more.
