if its a must,we can make only ratio free torrents open for public & make them register in order to download other torrents...

so which ratio-free torrents should we allow without registration? which numbers? now
  • (1) is not really interesting for outsiders (passerby-s), right? who normally wants to download Biontek's mixes, if they don't know him personally (most likely through the tracker's community)? no offense to Biontek, but name doesn't say anything to me when i don't know who you are... will there be results? dunno...

  • for this point i think that we are providing to every one from outside our community the music that we promote and the website sponsor over the radio as how mych we think that these ppl are talented , and in this case we will provide to those djs ( Unknown to outsiders ) more listeners ;-).
For unregistered users we will be providing sets that they will really like and  they will be really happy to join for, and get involve in such a community as they will think that we provide promoting good talents , and if he/she is talented he/she will be sure that he will get promoted due to his talent not because of his name !!

  • 1.a) could produce good demanded names, like Cattaneo and Digweed, but if those become popular, then it's a big hit on people's bandwidth, which is one of the main concerns throughout this conversation.

  • And in this point i think we can only share the Mega Packs for the top 10 Rated names over the E-browser .
Only Mega packs to show every one how huge our library for those djs is !!!

My monthly bandwidth is 60Gb... I don't mind seeding out to TM users but I have no desire to share my precious limited bandwidth with non members. I'd be paying for them to leech !!! OMG ... this could be a nightmare.  :yikes:

In the end there'd only be leechers... if somenone is too lazy to register, they will also be lazy to seed!

Even in forums where only links are posted to mixes, you have to register to see the links.

If they really want it, then they should become members and get the full on experience, its not so bad!

i think this is as much feedback as you are going to get from the Tribalmixes community,

the poll might have a few hundred voters but the majority dont agree.

and you said yourself you are not sure if the coding back and forth would be worth it

so what will you do slash about this Drop or no drop flag idea :?:

i think - nothing... this is a dilemma that cannot be resolved by logic means: good for one group (of users) - bad for another, good for another group - bad for the site in general, good for the site - bad for the first group, and so on, and so forth...

i only have one major concern... some time ago i introduced AJAX, and, as i said before, general poll said: every 2 out of 3 users liked it... there's no way to prove it (well there is, but involves alot of privacy breaching), but i think that every third person left the site since then... it was either AJAX or the appearance of lots of direct-download sites, which started happening pretty much at that time, so maybe AJAX had nothing to do with it, or maybe it did?

so... well... since majority doesn't want this step taken - we would rather not take it. i still do not have a firm decision on this... maybe we return to this idea in a few months?

so tell me you don't see how this remark can be seen in double meaning? site is heading straight forward, no step back...  :o)

Only future can really tell how the site will go.

and i meant it that way. double meaning

But as far as my eye can see the site is going at lighting speed

You have already made the correct choice. You gave the opportunity to the users of tribal mixes & their opinions have been voiced.

Running the site in a open & transparent way is the only solution to find a harmonic solution & a loyal user base.

May Tribalmixes continue to be a successful site that is supported and funded by it's users.

The music is the only reason this site exists.Lets not let 'politics' or any other belief allow us to lose focus of that Rhythmical fact   .

This site improves if the musical content improves and it is already of a high standard both musically and audio quality wise    .

EDIT: High audio quality relative to the majority of mixes, though some bad recordings get popularity 5+ 5 star votes even if the audio quality is relatively rubbish - I.E - Low  bit rate causing a distorted bass  and also  unbalanced stereo image .shame because this discredits the voting system ,votes for the label/name rather than the 'real' actual quality of that mix,but going off topic.

I give my vote for the free download

i spend a lot of time on this web site read posts and interesting stuff and most of all download and while i am on internet i don't turn off my seeds but there is a problem with this. I use a laptop and as many users here with laptop i cant just stay logged forever so its a problem. Also i will say that the popularity of the site will go sky high and the community will grow much bigger since there aren't many web sights offering the service like tribalmixes. Whateva you decide is cool but it is a big dilemma anyways and i know you hate me for my ratio but i just wanted to be heard and to tell everyone that many of the laptop users cant really fulfill the ratio requirement, also people that not have flatrate internet this is a problem for them.
Keep up the good work i love the web site with all the content on it NOT JUST THE DOWNLOAD PART :)

People who love the music will register here anyway, it's not like the registration process takes hours. No need to support "leechers". Keep it the way it is, because TribalMixes.com is awesome! :)
