i use it for more than a month now... 1gb ram is hardly enough for it, and it's still lack of drivers, at least for my notebook. the funny thing is it uses hdd a lot, but my notebook is still available for 4-5 hours, just like in xp.

here it is again, my friend :) ..  https://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=253307780391983639 .. starting from the 20th minute

for sure, Vista is a great step, and for sure Vista is so pretty .. PC users long used to the Windows XP will do a double take at Vista's translucent images and groovy 3D effects. Vista also is crammed with powerful, useful new features, like lightning-fast file searching, photo organizing and movie-DVD burning.

But it's not something revolutionary, for all people who never used a Mac, they will be impressed of course, but maybe cause I'm a Mac user, so I just felt that I'm using a Mac clone called Vista, even the color scheme !! .. anyway this is not the point.

The Point is Those upgrading from XP likely will have to get a new computer anyway because Vista doesn't work properly on most older PCs, so, instead of purchasing a Windows PC, they could — and typically should — get an Apple Macintosh computer running OS X. and not only that, you will be able to run your Windows Vista on your Apple computer natively.

that lightning fast is not so fast... it starts to index my files every time my notebook is on the charger... 3d effects look good, just like the 3d task switching, but if you really have to work on your machine then all these things doesn't count... not to mention the wlm messenger, which stops working on vista regularry... i had to downgrade to 8.0, instead of using the latest version, because it hangs when it tries to log in... and yeah, i've tried to reinstall it many-many times... so maybe the whole os will need some time to get better...

I think its to early to use vista...they need time to clear all the bugs(of course they cant clear all) and stuff

Vista's heavy hardware requirements will only give some good time to Linux :)

thats right, Vista's search is not comparable with Mac OS X spotlight feature, and its first time to know that it needs to index the files with every recharge !!! ... this doesnt happen in OS X !! .. anyway its just like you said exactly, it will take some time for them to fix all these bugs considering they spent whole 5 years to come up with Vista :)

i can't compare at least, but it indexes only when it's not on battery.. but how does osx handle new files then? google has desktop tools too, which support documents wide content searching too, and it has to maintain indexes too.. by fixing those bugs vista will get slower, just like it happened to xp after releasing the service packs... ms doesn't have to optimize too much for the desktop platform, because he dominates. but check their server os, win server 2003... they're not dominating there, so they have to maintain a reasonable speed/quality to get some users.. anyway, maybe i'll leave vista on my notebook, it's worth imho.. it has it's bugs just like ANY os has...

i really dont know but i just find a file appearing in my spotlight search results at the same moment i'm creating it .. and don't judge except when you try the Mac OS X first :)

I still find using Windows a lot easier than Linux. I tried linux for a few mths. I could'nt get around having to type in commands in the command window with all the commands that you have to know....it was much too complicated for me having to know all the different commands to enable a function or something else similar to that. I find that point and click is much easier.

Sorry but I think it was the 2 Steves who in 1984 introduced a self-contained computer and the revolutionary concept of desktop publishing called WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), the Impetus that kicked off the whole POINT AND CLICK shabang. Including an indispensable device called the mouse(introduced it to the masses but didn't invent it)...cant quite remember what it was called oh ya the MAC a definite UBERMACHINE.
