iPhone: Apple reinvents the Phone

nothing to say here except that, as Apple invented the personal computer and the portable computer besides many technologies like USB, Firewire and Wi-Fi .. now they are kicking off with a three in one device which will be a revolution in the industry, a phone which is 5 years ahead of any other phone and with a very competing price

$500 for the 4GB version and $600 for the 8GB ...still this one is way too thick...innovating though...but i would invest that much money on something that i would have to carry in a back-pack!
Commissarlightning Leopard on January 22nd, 2007 / post 15521
man, it fits perfectly in your palm with no plastic keys, only the giant 3.5" touch screen and the home button, i think it will fit into any pocket easily with no need for a bag :)

and dont forget that you are not only buying a smart phone, it's a full breakthorugh internet communicator with rich html & xml support, IMAP & POP3 Mail for mostly all kind of public and ISPs mails, giving a free push IMAP mail at yahoo for every iPhone customer, so you will access the internet through your wi-fi and have full control over web pages and mail in a way that nobody have seen before plus the google maps and satellite access, and not only that, there is a 4GB or 8GB widescreen video ipod with touch controls, 160 pixels per inch ... so just let's calculate it, you buy a 4GB or 8GB ipod nano (with no video support) for $200 and a nowaday smartphone for $300 .. so total is $500, and this is the price of 4GB iPhone, besides that it doesnt run those crappy softwares we see on smartphones nowadays, it runs a very strong foundation of OS X ... Apple has patented more than 200 new invensions and features in iPhone like multi-touch that really works like magic ..

and slash, Apple should be proud of everything they made, man .. because simply those affilities had a very strong role in our lives, whould we be able to live without personal desktop computers, portable computers and GUI OS like Mac or Windows? impossible ... who invented them? Apple :) ... their mistake that they didnt patent these invensions at time, but now they've learned from their mistakes :)

It's a great product but not 5 years ahead of other phones. 8GB is way too little considering that there are already 4GB memory cards on the market which can be used with all cell phones. Wifi already came out a year ago on the nokia N80. The iPhone will be good in a year when newer versions come out, this is apple's first phone and just like it's first iPod it will have many problems. The battery life is also very low when used for music, so there is no point in using a cell phone for both functions when in the middle of the day u need to recharge The price is also outrageous here,$600 and you have to sign a 3 year contract with AT&T. I'll stick to my Nokia  phone and 60GB ipod for now as they function very well.

I really don't know from where you brought all these false information, here are some facts in a sorted way
  • if 8 GB is little, so you want a hard drive in a phone !! .. the fact is the largest flash size in the whole market is 8 GB, so that's the highest available
  • iPhone will support the very new super fast (200 mbps) Wi-Fi 802.11n that is not available in the market yet and expected to be released in 2008 besides that the fact is Wi-Fi itself was developed by Apple since they introduced the Airport in 1999 !!
  • They have been 2.5 years preparing for this product, and they could have released it before but because they always want the perfect thing and not the crappy fast made thing, they took their time, ofcourse I agree about they will release better versions in future, but this will be changed according to the technology innovations, the next version will be a 3G and with the highest coming flash memory (like 16 or 32GB)
  • The first iPod wasnt just the first iPod, it was the first portable music player in the world, so it was normal to have some leakage who had been developed in the next generations
  • about the battery, the iPhone battery life is 5 hours for talk/video/browsing, and 16 hours for audio/music playback !! what do you want more ?! .. besides that there is a feature to reserve a part of the battery to the phone
  • as I said, iPhone runs OS X (the new unreleased yet OS X 10.5 Leopard), so no crappy shitty software here, no bugs, no virus, so spying applications that may steal your credit card no. besides it has the very famous & strong features of OS X like the Apple known high quality audio & video playback, the awesome security, the easy one touch syncing besides the amazing new core animation and as i said too it has 200+ patented features, are you getting it ? it will be the standard and forget about nokia, moto, samsung...etc
  • Huge names (Google, Yahoo, Intel and AT&T) are partners with Apple in this product, this was never happened before.

well, toys are getting more expensive...   i don't know... only if our fellow community members decided to present me with such a thing, i don't think i can afford it like that... =)

let me know when this thing can pack me a bowl and then laugh at my jokes, then i'll join apple club. =))

ps forgot to say... you're being so convincing probably cause you have 50% off or maybe even get one of them as work accessory for free... am i right? =)

Not bad that iPhone, but I do not find it to be an innovation at all. Nowadays almost every modern cell has:
  • Symbian OS
  • Audio & Video player
  • 802.11g adapter
I think that it is a matter of personal taste. Apple are famous by selling extremely expensive products however this phone is not as expensive.

Commisar I dint mean to offend you but I'm just saying I would rather have a seperate Ipod and a nice Phone, I'm a student who commutes to school for 3.5 hours a day and the battery would run out if I used it for other stuff and it wouldn't be practical for me. As for the price it's ridiculous, $600 and a 3-year deal and you're limited to a single company. Don't get me wrong I love apple products and have bought 3 ipods myself and am planning to buy an apple computer this summer.  Their software  and UI is always innovative and user firendly but I think I will wait a year and buy it then, hopefully they'll sell it without contracts and without it being unlcoked. I had a question for you, does it take Sim cards or is it the PCS type.

Consumer: A private individual at whom advertisements are aimed; a buyer.

Yes I am guilty of being one of those  ball and chained to Apple, its gizmos, and all it's audio software vendors. Even though Its been proven by numerous audio and production magazines that some pcs have almost zero latency and faster rendering than any of the 64 bit macs that I own. But go figure I'm addicted to Steve Jobs's shiny little trendy logo and everything that comes along with it. But I vowed that If its my last day on earth, I would always keep my phone SIMPLE all I need is SEND and END.

Yes I'm hooked and I can't even bare to look at it in fear of buying it. Kudos to Steve Jobs a man In a long line of trend setters:

    Steve Jobs
    Tom Ford
    Alexander Mcqueen
    Vivian Westwood
    Marc jacobs
    Alisandro Del Aqua

yes he's from a long line of fashion designers
