USB port was invented by Apple, man :) ... so sure it will recognize any USB connected device .. but do you mean it's an external HD running windows ? .. if yes, then we have two cases
  • FAT32 format will be better because it will allow you to copy/paste from your HD to your mac and vice versa
  • NTFS format will only allow you to copy/paste from your HD to your mac but it won't allow you to copy/paste from your mac to your HD

    im pretty sure its ntfs...and its not running windows on it...i just want to be able to access the files on the mac ....that is if ever get one.lol          Will i be able to?

    well .. for NTFS formatted hard drives, you will be able to take all those files from the hard disk to your mac, but you won't be able to modify them on the hard disk itself or to copy anything from your mac to the hard disk, simply, this disk will be read only .. so i suggest you take everything from the disk to your mac, then open applications/utilities/disk utility and choose your disk, format it with macintosh file system
