does newer mean better???

I really do think that depends on the mood you are in! For my parts i alway's search for the set that goes WOW ! you know what i mean the first time you hear a set that is frikin solid to your ears!
i remember when i've heard paul van dyke live at rosenmotagne rave damn that was good and there's lot's of set like that!
i realy do think that you should listen to a set like you listen to a new album! sometime its the 2nd or 3rd time that you will liked it more!

lets put it like this...
if i have to make a top 5 all time ranking, alle 5 sets would be from 2003 or even before that...

yeah thats true lucabati,i would pretty much say the same too

I guess I wold have to say that they are different in many aspects. New sets sometimes have a great deal of music I have not herd before. However New sets seem to be a great deal alike. Armin, Tiesto, Schultz, etc. Play a lot of the same stuff. However I would have to say that it varies by genre. House seems to be varied more. House has more productions and many more dj's. Trance has changed a great deal over the last two years. Myself, I like older trance circa, 2000-2001. thats not to say newer trance is no good but I like older sets. I believe in 2000-2001 Tiesto and Armin were playing records more for the reason that they were good productions not simple becuase the crowd got off on them. For example how many times have you people herd "Air for life" in the last year and a half. TOO Many. I like to hear varied sets, I like hearing new music, not the same old stuff every day. So I would have to say it's not new that makes the set better, it the dj's originality in track selection and mixing.

sorry, i dont mean any offense, but this question is a kind of lame ... cause there is NO relation between date and quality of music, actually I see that the music get worse everyday except for some rare productions or sets from very few djs ... and it's just like lucabati told, for myself, my top rated sets all around are from 2000-2003

no offense taken.by the way it isnt a lame question.because some people do think like that, they think the newer stuff is better than the old, always, any dj..i dont think like that at all, some djs i prefer their old stuff and some i prefer their newer stuff..and yes ofcourse there is no relation between date and quality of music

yeah i know and people like that dont understand anything :)
