No seeds, but found file elsewhere

Hello.

I tried to download a Thomas Schumaker mix (plattenleger 04-08-2013) but there were no seeds. I found the mp3 elsewhere on a direct download site and got it.

But I wanted to put that MP3 into the torrent folder so I could at least seed it. I've dropped it in the download folder replacing the empty MP3 and restarted my BT client. But it still claims nothing is downloaded.

I'm pretty sure the MP3 is the same one from the torrent.

Can I not do this? Is it got some CRC checking to stop me? Perhaps to stop me injecting crap files into a torrent.

I only wanted to be a bit helpful to others...

Had to stop it first, but now its seeding. Thanks again...

Excellent well done. The only other complication can be if you have had the torrent file directed towards being saved in an alternate directory? Stop and force check will work in most cases, if not then pointing the individual torrent towards the file and which file directory it is saved within will get you seeding the file in question.
