Rutorrent - Am I missing something?

munkynstar Moderator on July 15th, 2013 / post 59770
I've installed rutorrent/rtorrent on my headless raspberrypi no problem.. I can download no probelm... auto RSS feeds added, but for some reason I can't upload a newly created torrent in  rutorrent... it creates the torrent... I then add it to triblamixes, fill in all the info as usual...

then download the torrent again and aadd it in rutorrent ( in utorrent you set location, then do a force recheck) this is missing or not in the menus in rutorrent. It just sits there... any help would be grately appreciated in how I get it seeding (at 100%) cheers

when you add the torrent through rutorrent, you get to choose where to save the file?

Choose the file path where the file is located and add the torrent. Once the torrent is loaded rtorrent hash checks automatically, if the dats is not exactly like the meta info in the torrent it will report it as incomplete and fails the check and thats why it sits there waiting for the seed, which is you, but since you are not seeding the file nothing will download.

lets say you upload a file called megapack loacted in downloadsTM

If it is a dir, then dont click on the dir (megapack)itself, point it to the higher dir (downloadsTM).

something else to free you from this hassle, when you are creating the torrent click on start seeding and pvt torrent

Mo, many thanks for your help...all sorted. I tried it with the folder (above) and just the file by itself in the folder and it seems to work with just the file for some reason, either way it works well, many thanks Paul
