it can also be butty, teacake (sometimes defined with currants in depending on where you are from in the north) or bun, breadcake... they're also flatcakes (with a full english inside, yes everything) but thats more the north east and not forgetting stottys, but thats a north east thing too!  :yes:

Yeah I read this in the paper today .... They call it something different in Yarkshire " Breadcake " Or summat along those lines ... Strange... Bap or Bread Roll me thinks !!!!!  :yes:

I remember as a boy, sometimes buying a whole uncut white cooked loaf...scooping out the dough after cutting one end off and filling it with crisps and ketchup then munching it down!!! Defintely a northern thing!!!  :thumbsup:  :thumbsup:  :thumbsup:  :thumbsup:  :thumbsup:

Its like a flat breadcake that hasn't risen... really good for full english sandwiches... will find a picture
