Barrel scraping..., page 1

I think with the exception of Richie Hawtin, Sasha is scraping the barrel big time...

I think from the lineup its clear who this "festival" is geared at.. (corn fed idiots) and like the one in New York the other week doesn't pack very much of a punch. It looks like they're all trying to copy Miami (no chance) and failing miserably...

My opinion.... weak and pitiful!!!

No arguements over here Munkyn, pretty average collection of djs to bring to a pinnacle event.

I would suggest it is good enough to boycott?

Very average... sub average.. Dan.  Its amazing what shit they will feed to people and they will all buy tickets in herd mentality because they know very little about the music or DJ's. to ne honest I would rather lock myself in a dark room for a lifetime than waste any amount of time spent at these  so called "festivals"

Actually, I agree Munkyn.

Electronic Music Carnival in Las Vegas. This is the 2nd year that is held in las vegas. I was in Las Vegas last year when they held the 3 day festival at the Speedway. It was all over the news and they were making a very big deal out of it. There were bunch of young teenagers mostly that attended. And honestly, really did not really know what the music is about except Glow Sticks and (E). Just fucked up festival all around to be honest.  Before that, the same festival was held in Dallas, texas, then before that, Los Angeles, California. Yes, Agree. they are trying to be like the one in Miami and it will NEVER going to happen. Way to many young teenagers that goes to this festival.

That is why I just stay home and have my own festival in the room alone. :)

I saw the lineup u posted Munkyn. I do have to admit, Majority of the DJ´s that play at the Las Vegas Strip hotel is SO SO. I been to few and it was ok. To be honest, the actual 3 day lineup for the Festival at the Speedway. Pretty Decent Lineup, Hernan Catteneo, Pete Tong, Loco Dice And Resident DJ of Las Vegas Paul Oakenfold was at the event for the festival. That is few of them. But the people that attend do not really know what the Music is about (Most of them).

Yep mate, defintely a wannabe festival...more like a throwaway festival... and  not interested in rubbish  like that... it just dilutes the season. I would certainly be spending time having my own festival if thats whats on offer mate!!!

To be honest, it is definitely a wannabe festival.

I was very surprised that for the 1st year last year in las vegas, there were over 250k people there. For this festival Electronic Music Carnival, they are going to make las vegas actual home for this festival. The only reason why is because they had so many people showed up for it the 1st year.

I will not see young people use glow sticks and (E) and do not know shit about the music. Honestly, I agree with MoocowDan, Boycott it but that will not going to happen though. I rather go to Miami then this festival :)

well, boycott it or not, approve of it or don't, we're still going to receive a shit load of music from EDC in 2 weeks from now, and it will be shared on main torrents page, since i've set up all festival releases to go there, and there will be hundreds of downloads on those, because people want them, festival sets are in very high demand, kids go dancing and come home wanting to hear it again, and i don't blame them, and tribalmixes exists to make a wide range of users happy, not only us old-times who are stuck one leg in 90-s, another in 2000-s, and not wanting to actually step into 21-st century's teen year, cause those are for real teens, with all their guettas, skrillexes and deadmice.

i am though happy that even after all the golden rave-years have passed, this "industry" is getting more and more attention from the masses, i don't believe 250k people visited EDC LA last year, but i do know it's probably around 100k, which is still a huge number. basically, guettas and skrillexes have given dance scene a second wind, a breath of fresh air.

and while 10 years ago it all seemed passing and slowing down, living half hour from NYC i only came across 1 yearly event - BOO party, which is now replaced by Electric Zoo, and there was WMC with its Ultra Fest. look at this festival scene now!! in summer time especially. there are festivals upon festivals, just in USA there's an event like every other weekend, if not every weekend of summer. it's crazy!! and it's wonderful too. and it will help more people realize they gotta come over to tribalmixes and be a part of our great community. =) hehe... i always see 'positive' sides to this whole mess.. lolz..

just my 50cent.. =) i might disapprove of mainstreaming those festivals, but i highly approve of the festivals themselves being more frequent, and also more popular. thanks to INSOMNIAC in big part here, they organize like half of the yearly events in USA, including all "wonderland" events, besides, of course, all "daisy" events and many others...

It was in Las Vegas rather then Los Angeles that held the Electronic Music Carnival last year for the first time. And YES, I have to admit; there were over 250k people there for the 3 day event. I was in Las vegas when they had the festival in Las Vegas but I did not attend to it. I was very close to the Speedway where they held the festival.

I do have to admit and agree with you. The rave-parties were good times. Now, it is the next generations turn to have some fun.

That is why i am happy to come to Tribalmixes and thank you Slash for this. Because, i feel like I am back in time and having fun again. And thank you for ALL u guys for bringing the music again. Brings back memories. :)
