Essential Mix [remastered year pack 1995]

in the latee 80's a was hiding myself in the bed under the blanket late night recording a death/trash metal from a local radio. the reason i was hiding there was i hard would explain what im exactly doing. i couldnt believe some1 doing the same all over. now im happy it was like that always

Yep mate, still a tape freak at heart...annoyed with myself at getting rid of tapes even earlier than that, but I kept all the ones from the early to mid 90s... would and will never give them up for anyone... way to much retrospective gold!!!

I wish I had hung onto my tapes.
I used to have a recording of the first 90 minutes of the 1996 Essential Mix at the Que Club (Pete Tong, Boy George, Paul Bleasdale etc) but I dunno where it is now.
Such a pity, as every version I've since downloaded off the net never seems to have either the full 2 hours that were broadcast and never the beginning of that mix.
It was a high quality recording on a decent tape too!
The only bit I fucked up was when - about a year later - I'd sat on the remote control of my stereo and it started to record channel 4 racing onto that same tape (I'd forgotten to snap the tabs out of the back - school boy error). This happened because I had the sound of the TV/Video routed through my stereo.
It was hilarious though, halfway through Gat Dacor's Passion, John McCrirrick suddenly screams 'That's a seven to one chance'!
But it in fitted perfectly with the track somehow.
USed to make me and my mates laugh like fuck!
