Not Seeding with UTorrent at TM, page 1

arpexstar user on April 19th, 2012 / post 44506
I cannot seed any torrent that I download at Tribal Mixes using UTorrent (with Scientific-Atlanta DPC2100 cable modem and TP-Link WR941ND router). I can seed without problems torrents on any website except TM. Torrents from TM are downloaded without problems but I can't seed any file: new, old...This problem occurs with hundreds of torrents from TM, not specific cases. Thanx!

No, I haven't opened a port for UTorrent cause I can dl and seed with sites like Pirate Bay, Iso Hunt, etc. Only at TM I cannot seed. It would be the case of opening a port on UTorrent? Thanx.

Yaeh, maybe that's the problem ;-) i had the same problem when i bought the router  try to open a port and go to uTorrent -> Options -> Preferences -> Connection and put the same number you opened ;-) the port opening is a little bit complicated if you have dynamic IP... you must make it fix :-)

So if you have some problems with it contact me ;-) Cheers

thepiratebay, isohunt, and other public tracker dont not really need an open port because of the vast amount of connected peers to the trackers, so you are bound to connect to someone who will leech/upload to you.

but for sites as TM where the content is not as vast and the peers as many, it will be hard for the peers to connect without both of them having a clear way to connect, having an open port increases the chance.

and most if not all of the other pvt trackers ask users to have open ports.

so it will not hurt if you DO open a port

A doubt appeared when i was configuring my router. There's no problem with the number of the port of the utorrent but which IP address should i use? Let me explain: first i run the command "ipconfig/all" on my machine and it gave me an IP addrees of my network card (it was 192.168.1.100), but i thought: and the IP from my ISP? I discovered that it was another address (it was 186.205.66.35). But when I open the port on my router it only accepted the network card IP. The IP from my ISP was not accepted and its static, not dynamic. What a mess!!! Maybe im thinking too much...

Now my router is configured with the port of utorrent and the IP from my network card. Is everything correct? I try to dl two files but for awhile i still cannot seed, maybe theres no leechers for the file.

Well I wanna thank everybody above and below and will keep trying to improve my share ratio which in the past was very higher! That time I didnt have this router from hell...

ThaNx again, i will be back with some new information if it comes.

have you tried https://portforward.com/

go to the router list, choose your off the list.

note:

i did go the site and check if your router is on there, well its not. BUT the your routers interface are the same, so you try and give it another try.

and if you cant seed even though you have an open port then there might be no leechers like you said. in that case look for ratio free torrents the download on them wont affect your ratio

It seems to be ok ;-) now you are Connetable  maybe nobody downloads the torrents you seed at the moment, but you will see that your uploading ratio will increase ;-) Cheers

Hello Everybody!

I read trough almost the whole forums regarding  "unconnectable".

I have the same issue, but the funny thing is: that I can upload another torrents except these from the tribalmixes.

Anybody any idea?

I looking forward to your help

See answer to this question: 6 posts above your own.
Help is possible if you are willing to post something about your configuration and what you have done so far to get connectable.
Primarily it's usually always something about the opened port, see posts above.
