Wrong Ul/Dl and ratio, page 1

(user gone) on March 26th, 2006 / post 2885
Looking at my upload/download stats, I noticed that they're wrong - according to my client, I've only dl'ed about 500MB. This, combined with a connection error that was keeping me from seeding that I didn't notice until recently, has totally thrashed my ratio. It's recovering now, but is there any way to fix the mistake?

do not touch mp3 until torrent shows 100% complete in your client. otherwise you can screw something or player will, so it will get stuck on 99.5 or will keep redownloading one little piece of 0.5% for ever giving extra snatches to torrent and screwing your ratio. watch it! it's only your own fault...

Oh, that's what he was saying. I couldn't really figure it out.
However, I didn't do that whole playing the file while it was downloading thing. Is there some other cause for that?
