tribalmixes facebook questions

and so i registered on facebook after so long reluctantly refusing... anyways, now i don't quite get how is it supposed to go. i've made this page: https://facebook.com/tribalmixes and now i was recommended to make also this page https://www.facebook.com/pages/tribalmixes/178693070389 where first page is my personal profile (or tribalmixes profile) and second page is the actual fan club, where fans can join and be massing...

so i don't quite get... profile isn't enough? why is the fan-page needed for? maybe i can simply have friends? or friends are limited, but fans can be millions? i don't quite understand.. is this the main difference from myspace? the latter one seems easier to work with... less functions.. =)

i would love to hear any suggestions and advice in general on what to do now, what do post and stuff like that. thanks!!
