we've had the rule of two mistakes before. in 95% of the mishaps users would manage to use both mistakes at once, meaning more than 1 torrent of theirs would be removed by staff in one action... so 2 mistakes do not make any sense.

I wanted to write something long and nice but well , site refreshed and my text got lost. So just shortly, i recently lost my uploader rights too because i uploaded a re-broadcast with no chance of knowing it was a re-broadcast. Well, only if i would download all previous sets and listen to them to check that out. But this i would never do. You can keep your 'no-exception'-like rules but know this, now i will still be able to download anything on the site with my 29+ ratio but i won't contribute anything anymore. And i dont feel this is the best way to create the community. Your choice.

My case is also analogic... My rights were revoked, because I've uploaded 'John Digweed Live @ Radio FG - 13-Oct-2007'...
I don't listen to Digweed's sets, but I know the community likes him. I've checked the E-Browser for his torrents and I didn't see whether it is uploaded earlier. So I've put it up and stayed online for almost 3 hours to see comments, messages and votes. But there were none. After that I travelled to Shumen, a town 90 kms from home, where I study and work. After taking a day shift I decided to go to a computer hall to see what's going on. I wasn't online for 17 hours and my rights were revoked... It was a re-releaze... My knees went weak  :'-(
How could I find out in the E-Browser that it was a re-releaze, if there's no playlist and the date is other?
Two months later slash has restored my rights (thanks a lot! ) and therefore you can see my uploads again on! :mml:   But already the staff won't make me an Uploader I think... :slap:  :sorry:  :'-(

About Moemen: He had put up a set by Benny Benassi, which I've uploaded earlier. I told him about that, but he didn't erase it. But the difference was that he WAS online when I did that!

There's second uploader, who has put up a set by Kosmas Epsilon, and his nickname is cshekar.
I also told him that this is a re-releaze, but you can see his reaction in the Public shoutbox. I also put a comment to the torrent, saying that.

I don't want to argue with users for their faults, further I've been through a lot much trouble... :-/
Here in Bulgaria people often say 'No shillyshallying'

At last, I suggest, If anybody's torrent is deleted for first time, his rights to be revoked for one month, second time - for two months, third time - for three months, etc.

...
But already the stuff won't make me an Uploader I think...

by the way, if you look at it this way, it is ONLY the [e]-browser that can show the phenomenon... if you look at the list of digweed's torrents there, you will not find any sets from him played on fg (well, there is 1, but it's old and undead, so let it be..). and then you think: why, people would definitely pick up such a wonderful source for digweed's music, why is it not there? and then you realize... everything we talked about... i mean, that this is a rebroadcast. =)

ps since you think "the stAff" won't make you an uploader, let the usual rule of having 30-40 torrents online be extended to 45-50 for you, that is number of torrents to become an uploader. everyone else pretty much got it this way, so why not you?

Staff, sorry...

OK, I'll try it!

Ok i figured another thing out how about making a warn bar.....the whole idea of the warn bar is from 0%-100% make this bar for all users normal users, pwr users & uploader team...

Lets say if an uploader does a stupid mistake he gets a 10% out of 100% warn and gets his upload rights removed from him for like a month or so....if he does it again double the % and so on that way you give uploaders more than one chance so they dont say that the rules are too harsh or cruel.

And for example the shout box if someone uses bad language or anyother language instead of english give em a 10% warn for 1 month as well..........how does that sound?

Cheers.

i think, if users will see that there's still room for a mistake (according to the warn-bar), they will do that mistake. it has to be something that will shake you.. you know?
Karamanilightning Auditer on April 27th, 2008 / post 25097
Yea i get your point then how about the warn is not removed stays as it is....

Basically a term of 3 chances only:

Example:

0%-30% uploader rights removed for 1 month (but the warn can be removed after 1 month)
40%-70% uploader rights removed for 2 months (but warn can be removed after 2 months)
70%-100% Losing uploader status and can no longer upload at all.

Thats why ive been trying ya know explain :P

That way uploaders only have 3 chances....that way they have been warned twice before if they mess up so if they mess up the third time its thier fault :)

Cheers.

a couple of things to both sides of this argument:

mades:  sorry your uploading ability was revoked.  you've put up some good stuff and we all appreciate it.  mistakes suck, but i see your point. it's tough to listen to every single set by someone to make sure it's not a rebroadcast.  but the admins have to have some way to protect the content of the site.  i had my uploading status removed for a time, but i apologized (it was a mistake on my part), waited, and when i had some good stuff that people wanted to hear, i talked to one of the admins and they let me back in.  they're good people.  just give it time and you'll be back.

slash:  as always, i love you.  i'm sure you will come up with an amazing solution.  ask DJ Balthazar... i'm sure he has an idea (jk).  i like the 3 strike idea.  or two strike.  whatever, but definitely ban people for life that upload commercial stuff.  i want this site to stay on the air.

to everyone else:  thanks for uploading, seeding, commenting, whatever it is that you do... but whenever possible, try to include a tracklist when you upload sets.  if i snatch a set and it doesn't have a tracklist, i try to find one and post it in the comments.  it just makes it easier for everyone... and we know what we're listening to.

peace.

Well I vote for a couple of chances for the Power users coz I do not add uploaders into this Discussion , I may add new uploaders into the mistakes thing but old uploaders are the main source of music and when I say music I mean quality stuff not regular stuff which you can get it from anywhere , also a couple of chances will make it strict and tight to those pwr users like to share what they have and most of them spend their mistakes in only one torrent , well the warn bar is a good idea for uploaders but for power users it's a couple of chances, being a part of the staff is not an easy thing , giving most of your time and connection to the website is not an easy thing most of the users here just come to get a couple of torrents without even leaving a comment on what they like or not , but staff do search for stuff to bring here , do search for it's existence on the website and also do their best to check if it's a rebroadcast or not which is a really hard thing if it's on a radio doesn't usually rebroadcast radios like FG , DD, & MaximaFM etc...

as slash said this subject is opened now in the staff discussion which means a new decision should be taken soon , send your ideas the way you think your controlling the thing and in the same time helping you to keep your rights  ;-)

People make mistakes...
slash ProDanceCulture on April 27th, 2008 / post 25107
as i said before, i think, and i'm sure, three mistakes will be too much. if there is a chance of getting by, 90% of the people will take that chance without much concern, it is people's nature it is. and having 2/3rds of us here from 18 to 25 y.o., it makes me even more assured, some of us will go deep from first dive, and will lose all three chances from the very first attempt. this way it used to happen when we had 2 mistakes allowed for power users, and rolled back to one mistake. if users know that their first attempt for sure will not do much harm, they will try to slip through without even reading the uploading rules. a red border message on uploads page (not the red box, but red border-box, that's been there for ages) says there do not put date anywhere in the torrent name - select date from drop down boxes. many people have lost their privileges over that note. why? they didn't want to read it. a message with a red frame - can it be something important or not? who cares, i've been uploading torrents to other websites for ages, what news can there be now? i know it all... and here's how this user looses their uploading privileges... do we want to give this person 2 more chances? i don't think so...

Guys really u gotta ease it a little here now your website is  great and everything but guys all these rules and regulations and stuff they all make it very unfriendly here believe me it's gonna be better for both of us and you as well if we decresed the rules and regulations a bit.
it's us the users who DRIVE this website who OWN this website and all torrents it's us who DONATE
this website's succsses was because of us!!!
i demand that users get the full right to vote on each and every rule and regulation there is on this website.
