I agree with that AZ! ;-)

yes, 2 teams max sounds fair.

but what about this? can we require the teams to do different sets which obligatory include the basic genres house, techno and trance? i dont wanna see Bulgaria with 5 tribal and argentina with 5 prog and spain with 5 trance and germany with 5 minimal sets if u guys know what i mean
zahranlightning Moderator on November 16th, 2007 / post 22553
well bidona thats up to them ..they get extra score according to the diversity of generes ..if a team doesnt want that advantage its thier choice :) ...and last year arg won with progressive sets al around :)

yes, that's quite fair. as i've mentioned rewarding diverse sets, we could as well fine teams with similar genre sets. for example, judge may increase the team's final score by up to 5% in case all 5 sets are completely different 5 music genres presented, and take off up to 3% of the score for if all sets are same styled.

also talking about limiting teams per country.. well, this is quite fair as well, right? we don't want 11 teams from egypt to compete with 11 teams from the rest of the world... =))) no offense, everyone. =) so anyways, we could go with a very nice technique here... as if countries that took 1st through 3rd place in last year's IDC can bring in 3 teams in next IDC. then countries/teams ended up 4th through 8th can bring in 2 teams. and well those that didn't make it big last year, alongside with new contesting countries, can only be represented by 1 team. how does all this sound? deals with last years winners and still allows some countries more than 1 team... so basically we will have 11 more teams (tops) to judge... ghm... =) and of course, then countries are winning by their best team position.

well, now we go... how about ... one surprise guest per team (or none for some teams, trying to preserve purity... =), this way teams of 4 djs can pick up a great dj and a friend of theirs from any other country, justy to make sure that dj isn't on some other team's list already competing for their own country...

for judging.. as i might have said, i'm planning on making a special access page where all judges will be able to rate sets comfortably any time of day and night and save ratings in db right away, as far as listening time... well, lets see... 30 teams will keep you listening to their music for 11hrs per day for 2 weeks... too much... 5 hours a day for a month.. more reasonable? see, if we do this long 1 month of judges judging, and of course this time we'll put distinct time-frame, like by Feb 15, for example, all voting cuts off and we deal with what we've got. so... let's see how many teams register by dec 31st, and then we put exact dates for judging period, coming from about 1 day per team.... =) maybe next years we cut down to 30 min mixes? =)))

I have an Idea in which we can set a qualifcations in every countrey till we get the best team then we start the finals with the best team in every country or best 2 teams maybe to give some noobies a chance, maybe it will take long time but I think this will be more organized and fair  :-|  :smartass:

Who's gonna organize the team charts? Can we have a list or something?

every team should start gathering their members together and after chosing a captain they should post their DJ list in a new forum. that'll make it easier for all.

i dont know if it's too late to voice my opinion about the whole how many teams per country but i think it's not fair for it to be unlimited. i think the best compromise is to allow only one team with a range of members (3-6 for example) rather than a fixed number..
