i would like to know..

Hi, i was using BitComet and now i'm using uTorrent, i would like to know how to replace all my sets which i was seeding with my bitcomet client to this new one "uTorrent" ?
slash ProDanceCulture on January 16th, 2006 / post 1102
just reopen all torrent files in it and direct it to save to existing mp3s or folders. utorrent checks them really fast. yesterday i added old lawler's 2gb torrent and it was processed and checked in 30 seconds, although azureus would take 3-4 minutes.

thanx for help, but i prefered just to update my BitComet client to 0.61 version.

it's your own choice. although i can't stop telling everyone how much utorrent is better than bitcomet or anything else. what did i do when switched from azureus to utorrent? nothing, just started accumulating new downloaded torrents in there as i did with azureus. so now i have about 180 torrents in utorrent, it's taking 4mb ram and no cpu load, comparing to azureus that would choke on most of the time when has 170+ active torrents, meaning it will fail to use scrape and start all 170 torrents at once and update them with tracker every minute, giving tremendous overload on the server. the only bad thing with utorrent is a hardly-coded seeding rules, but still it is being developed and let's hope to see some great queueing mechanism in future.

I'm also using Utorrent now and its great. Now when I'm downloading a set my music doesn't skip anymore, cause it used to skip when I used Azureus. I'm really happy that I changed it.

I've been having a bit of trouble with utorrent , it keeps disconecting me from the internet , i 've configured my firewall and all that and on here it says i'm connectable so i'm clueless as to why it keeps doing it .

I'm really not sure about the reason .. but maybe you can help by giving more details like your exact operating system , info about firewall ... etc

the only thing i'm sure about is that utorrent is the best bittorrent client so far, < 5 mb ram...nearly no cpu usage... it's a real brilliant coded software .. unlike azureus which is written in java so it uses alot of the system resources

as for this issue, you really need to look into their website's forums and try to find something there. honestly, i've seen there unbelievable situations, like yuors, when 1 person out of a million is experiencing some problems with utorrent, but those problems are described and solved in much nice manner.

yeas, there're less options, and missing the whole 'queueing rules' section, but 5mb RAM beats any sweet things any other client offers.

and you can change upload speed by right-click->set-upload-bandwidth

but if you kiss your baby on the lips like they do in fairy tales, don't expect azureus to turn into µTorrent with seeding rules. :)
