This is kinda like listening to ppl complain about playing video files. Windows does not come with every codec or file format or whatever so youve got to do a little digging to fix your problem. I can play all of SpasV's files because I've got a codec pack installed, they are free and you can find them anywhere on the internet. I got it in the first place to handel videos and stuff. These individuals that are DEMANDING files be upped in a certain format is just insane. Adapt to it, it is not difficult.

First of all,I am not complaining, just pointing out that m4a is a totally useless file to the majority of users, secondly I will not adapt at all (at the request of an uploader)!
Rather than adapt,I would download it (MP3 Format) from an alternative source.
& the simple fact is that no matter which way anyone looks at it,or argues that it is the best,
When it clearly is not (I dont have animals ears by the way so dont need exhorbitant bitrates)
m4afiles will not be shared by as many as mp3.
Thirdly,It is not my problem,it is the uploaders problem for trying to be too clever blinding people with science and copying & pasting tech jargon that frankly nobody needs,to try and make things easier for themselves.
There is no logical or truthful argument with that!
PS.  Codec packs suck big time

2 Lostwraith:Mmmm, seems that you are not well enough educated to read English propely
I said codec packs sux,but as you are not old enough to have mastered the full english language, then
you will be excused.
never mind,as you mature you will see, that you are not always right,& you don't always know better than other people.
In this case you have sprung to the defence of someone, you are not speaking yourself,
so I will treat your comments with the ignorance that they deserve.

The fact still remains that I & many other people will not download m4a until a full set of tools is available to set tags etc,I would not share a file with no (or hidden tag).
& I certainly would not download a codec or "pack of Codecs"
in order to play a file which is not recognised by any of the major operating systems.
I have the latest media pc with windows vista home premium,so I would never add unknown codecs
on somebody elses unproffessional opinion.

Fine, be that way, its all good. Though I'de like to add, I think the ignorance is on your part not mine. You are the one basically resisting an advancement in technology for little gain. I see that this is your opinion so I will respect that.

I dont think theres much more to say. m4a, love it or hate it, change or be left behind. People who dont figure out how to use it will sure be missing out at some time or another. I guess its a shame because its so simple, this is of course coming from my strict unprofessional opinion that should not be followed in any place or at any time or risk your computer suffering a fatal BSoD.

Taking a risk of being “not well enough educated” to express myself in English properly I would say
it is not a good manner to express what you thing about someone else in a forum such “m4a file format - what is this?”. More over, I think, it is reproachable especially for someone who has already known “that you are not always right,& you don't always know better than other people”.
And , is there a need “to defence of someone” and to defence from what?

m4a is way better than mp3 in terms of quality and yes, it is easily noticeable when you compare a track ripped in these two formats. As opposed to the "I WANT MP3"  i say I PREFER M4A, OR EVEN BETTER FLAC FORMAT.
I noticed that a guy said the majority needs mp3 - may i ask what did the majority demand before the vinyl was introduced? They worshipped the phnograph :)
