I am interested to see what your favorite recipe is, since were not all from the same country its even better. Please be detailed too. What you need, how to prepare, how long to bake or cook,,etc. Because If we like what we see we may try to prepare it at our homes. I know I will. I love to eat food.
Especially from different countries. From the med i love falaffel. Im not gonna list all that i like to eat. But please give us your favorite recipes

hehe... telling you the best recipe for mashed potatoes. after i've had these - no other mashed potatoes taste good anymore. even though potatoes were brought into russian table by Peter the Great (the first) in the early 18th century from Northern America, same as coffee and tobacco, they've truly become national russian food. this is an enhanced recipe combining several cultural foods, but producing an awesome result...
take 5-6 large potatoes, clean the skin off and put into some pot for boiling 10-20 mins until ready (can easily poke them with a fork). dump the water and put potatoes in a big temperature-proof container, like a microwaveable glass bowl. then add 2-3 table spoons (ounces) of butter or margarine, 14-16 ounces (400gramms) of sour cream, one container of philadelphia cream cheese, add some salt, pepper and dried herbs, grab a hand mixer or some special potato smashing tool, and mix everything up very carefully, possible to add a little milk, if softer-fluffier product is desired. finally this mixture is arranged nicely in the glass pot or a full-metal pot, doesn't matter, make sure no plastic, top of it gets a little bit buttered for the color, and get some hungarian paprika and richly shake alot of it on top of potatoes. put into the oven at 350-400F (150-170C) for 15-20 minutes or until top is golden brown. take out, let sit for a few minutes, enjoy.

Awesome response slash, all sounds familiar except the last two steps. Believe me when i say that I'm gonna try most of the responses. It looks like baking the potatoes at the end may make them better. I dunno. but ill try

I bought three boxes of store bought falafil. Can someone give me a good recipe for it. You just add water and let set for thirty minutes and then make it in shape and fry it.

falfil ohh are u kidding me falafil and beans are eaten by 99 % of egyptian citizen hehe but i dont like it that much u just fry it with oil thats it and put some pepper and kamun if u know it hehehe

The only way I've seen it eaten is on pita bread with tomatoes, lettuce, onions and tzatziki sauce. But I have not tzatziki sauce so i would just use ranch dressing.

on the subject of falaaafeeel (put your finger on your adams apple when you sing this word, like a true middle east baba)
you have to fry the falafels, either in deep pan (like a wok pan) with alot of oil, or in a deep fryer..The temp should be HOT HOT, and it doesnt take long to fry them.
Serve it in a pita or in a fajita role with salad. For salad i use lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onions, corn..
For dressing i use tzaitziki (naturelle youghurt with chopped garlic & cucmber & salt). Tahini is very good too..Also hummus is very good with falafel...And if you are a really pro, you use baba ganosh.. That thing is just wicked on a falafel..

im a vegetarian and i would like to share some AWESOME DELICIOUS vegetarian food recipes..
first of we go to Mother India..
...and present one of the most traditional thing to eat in India;
Dal with Rice
Dal is basicly mashed lentils, chick peas or beans with alot of spices..
For spices i reccomend this variation;
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup onions, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled, minced
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric, ground
1/2 teaspoon red peppers, crushed
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups cauliflower florets, chopped
2 cups tomatoes, chopped
2 1/2 cups water
1 cup dried lentils
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, minced
3/4 teaspoon salt
6 cups cooked basmati rice or long grain rice, cooked
1. Heat olive oil in large saucepan over med-high heat. Add onion and next 5 ingredients (onions through garlic); saute 2 minutes.
2. Add cauliflower and tomato; saute 1 minute. Stir in water and lentils; bring to a boil.
3. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 35 minutes or until lentils are tender.
4. Stir in lime juice, cilantro, and salt. Serve 1 cup lentil mixture with 1 cup rice.
Serve with yougurt, different pickle/garnish, fresh lime and loads of cilantro, and nan bread!
for perfect basmati rice;
soak the amount of rice desired in water (with salt) for approx 1 hour. Fill the water in the casserole so that your ring-finger is half covered with water when it touches the rice (in the casserole).
cook the rice (with the same water used) and let it boil for 5-6 minutes (or until the rice is ready, and you can know that when the rice corns are soft but at the same time spungy..they should not be mashed/overcooked)... Drain out the excessive water in the sink and add some oil to the bottom of the casserole...Then put the oven on low heat and put a cloth btw the casserole and the top (so steam isnt let out) and let it stay there for 30 mins to 1 hour.. And if you are real fancy you can take another casserole and heat up some good oil and pour it over the rice..

That is also how i eat it. but i can't buy tzatziki so i use ranch dressing.


well you can make it, duh ! :)
1. take half a cucumber, slice it in two.. remove the juicy middle part with a spoon.. Then chop the rest of the cucmber in small parts.
2. mince 4 parts garlic (feds?)
3. have it in a bowl.
4. add 10 spoons or as much as desired of youghurt (naturelle, and prefferably drained for water)
5. taste with salt and lemon juice, until you are satisfied with the taste..
very easy!
