ANYONE WHO NEEDS HELP PORT FORWARDING OR RASING THERE RATIO THIS IS THE FORUM FOR IT.  IT TOOK ME MANY YEARS TO MASTER IT AND I'VE DONE IT AND PERFECTED IT.  I UPLOADED 4 GB'S YESTER ON ONLY 2 FILES.

HERES THE LOW DOWN ON RASING YOUR RATIO....

1.DOWNLOAD FILES THAT HAVE MORE L E E C H E R S THAN S E E D E R S!!!! VERY IMPORTANT.(YOUR UPLOAD SPEED WILL BE GREATER THAN EVER.  WHEN I DOWNLOAD A FILE LIKE THAT I UP LOAD AT AROUND 500K/BS TO 600K/BS.

2.DONT DOWNLOAD FILES THAT HAVE 100 SEEDS AND 1 LEECH.  ITS NOT GOING TO WORK RIGHT.

3.TRY UPDATING THE TRACKERS ON ALL THE FILES BEEING SEEDED CONSTANTLY.

4.YOU COULD ALSO DONATE TO THE WEBSITE LIKE I HAVE.

5.LEAVE THE FILES TO SEED FOR DAYS AND DAYS.  ITS THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE THIS WEBSITE RUN RIGHT AND GET RID OF YOUR WARNINGS.  ALSO IT MAKES LIFE BETTER FOR ALL OF US.  I HAVN'T TURNED OFF MY UTORRENT FOR 2 DAYS NOW.

PORTFORWARDING W/ROUTER

BASICALLY ITS AN EASY TOPIC BUT PEOPLE WRITE TO MUCH CRAP AND GET EVERYONE CONFUSSED.  ITS NOT THAT HARD TO DO AND ITS NOT HARD TO HAVE TREMENDOUS SPEEDS ALL THE TIME.

1.FIRST THING YOU HAVE TO DO IS FIND OUT WHAT YOUR IP ADDRESS IS.  YOU CAN DO THIS BY CLICKING RUN AND THEN TYPING IN command
NEXT YOU GOING TO TYPE IN ip config.  THE IP ADDRESS WILL COME UP AND I WANT YOU TO WRITE IT DOWN ON A PIEACE OF PAPER FOR LATER USE.

2.NEXT OPEN UP YOUR INTERNET EXPLORER AND TYPE YOU IP ADDRESS AND CLICK ENTER.  A USERNAME AND PASSWORD SHOULD APPEAR.  USUALLY THE USER NAME IS admin AND THE PASSWORD IS admin.  STANDARD FOR MOST ROUTERS.

3.ONCE YOUR IN YOU NEED TO GO TO ADVANCED AND CLICK ON PORTFORWARDING.  I USE PORT NUMBER 49585 TO 49585.  YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE A PORT NUMBER FROM 10000 AND UP TO 60000.  MAKE SURE IT THE SAME LIKE MY EXAMPLE ABOVE. NEXT CHECK ON PROTOCOL TCP AND PROTOCOL UDP.  AND CLICK ON ENABLE ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT.  LAST TYPE IN YOUR IP ADDRESS THE ONE YOUR WROTE DOWN.  SO YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR PORTS NUMBER FOLLOWED BY CHECKED ON PROTOCOL TCP AND UDP. AND THEN YOUR IP ADDRESS AND THEN CHECKED ON ENABLE.

4.NEXT YOU HAVE TO TURN ON UPNP FORWARDING.  GO TO UPNP FORWARDING IN THE ADVANCED MANU OF YOUR ROUTER AND TYPE THE PORT NUMBER WHICH YOU ARE USING IN THE EMPTY BOX TOWARDS THE BOTTOM.  CHECK ON PROTOCOL UDP. TYPE IN THE SAME PORT NUMBER AGAIN. THEN FOLLOWED BY YOUR IP ADDRESS. AND THEN CHECK ON ENABLE.

THATS IT NOW YOUR UTORRENT SHOULD BE FORWARDING ALL INCOMING CONNECTIONS TO THE SAME ROUTHER AND YOU SHOULD HAVE FASTER AND MORE DESIRABLE DOWNLOAD AND UPLOAD SPEEDS.

IM GOING TO TRY TO GET SOME PICTURES ON HERE TO HELP YOU GUYS OUT A LITTLE MORE....ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK.

connect to your router using your ip address and type it in the internet explorer window..this should pop up

The user name and password should be as default admin as the username and admin as the password.  unless you changed them.

next loging and go to the port forwarding screen.  i will show you exactly how mine is set up so all you have to do is not even read what i wrote up above but just copy cat my settings.  when you log in click on advanced.

then click on forwarding

when you get in there make sure everything that i have checked off you have to...dont mind my other stuff but pay attention to how my ports are set up and see that they are both the same not a range of ports.  49585

CLICK APPLY BEFORE YOU GO TO THE NEXT STEP

NEXT YOU HAVE TO CLICK ON UpNp FORWARDING AT THE BOTTOM ON TH SAME SCREEN AFTER YOU CLICK APPLY AND THE SCREEN RELOADS.

AFTER THAT GET INTO THE UPNP FORWARDING THE SEE THE SCREEN BELOW AND DO AS IT IS....TYPE IN WHAT EVER PORT YOU USED YOUR IP ADRESS AND THEN CLICK ENABLE.  MAKE SURE UDP IS CLICK ON AND NOT TCP.  AND THEN YOUR DONE.  ENABLE UPNP FORWARDING IN UTORRENT UNDER OPTIONS AND YOU SHOULD BE READY TO GO...FASTTT UPLOADDSSSS AND DOWNLOADSSS

THIS IS A PICTURE OF MY ACTUAL UPLOAD AND DOWNLOAD SPEEDS WITHT THE SETTING THAT ARE ABOVE....CHECK IT OUT THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD LOOK.  lOOK AT THE LEECHERS THERE IS A LOT MORE THAN THERE ARE SEEDERS...THAT IS THE WHOLE KEY TO DOWNLOADING AND UPLOADING FAST...YOU HAVE TO HAVE THAT IF NOT YOUR SPEED WILL BE HORRIBLE.

If you are STILL having trouble w/ all that, there maybe onr thing you still need to do (read this):

Tweaking Bit-Torrent Speeds

Bit-Torrent is an incredible technology that allows transfer of large files without putting much strain on the original server. This is acheived by utilizing the upload bandwidth of all those that are downloading, which is relatively unused normally. This removes the strain off of the servers and distributes it over a large network of peers.

In this guide, I will show you how to tweak your Bit-Torrent client so that you can acheive the fastest speed possible. This guide is designed for Windows XP SP2, but some of the tweaks can be used in other versions of Windows.

Requirements:
Azureus - This is the Bit-Torrent client of choice.
LvlLord’s TCP/IP patcher - This is to remove the limitation of the number of outgoing connections allowed by Service Pack 2 (https://www.lvllord.de/download.php?url=en/EvID4226Patch223d-en.zip)

Lets get started.

The first thing that you must do is make sure that if you are behind a firewall or a router, to open port (already covered here. . .)

The second thing to do is to use LVlLord’s patcher. Unzip the files and execute the patcher. A dos prompt window should pop up and you will be given some options. If you type in “Y” and press enter, it will change the maximum outgoing connections to 50. This should be enough for most users, so go ahead and do that. If, however, you make the limit higher, you can press “C” and enter in the number of connections that you would like.

After you enter in your choice, a window may popup asking you to insert your Windows XP CD. Press the cancel button, as you want the files to remain changed. Then reboot your computer.

That should help (it did for me!!)
