Unfortunately, there are no videos or photos that can fully portray the atmosphere, sounds, feelings, smells, vibrations etc. of being inside The Que Club during an event. The only way to fully understand that is to experience it. It's now being converted into a luxury hotel. So no chance nowadays unless you have already been.
A few nights I recall were extra special. Not only were all the bars/small rooms off the sides of the main arena used, but the 'Chapel' was open. Two large rooms with yet more corridors. One room was overlooking Corporation street and was dark with just a few dicso lights, some podiums, a stage etc. Big sound system of course. The other room seemed to be brightly lit up and painted white. Perhaps it was a bar/chill-out area. Or perhaps I don't recall it properly at all... lol
The 'Rooftop' area and the adjoining rooms were not even open on those nights (this was back in 96/97). So I was not experiencing the full extent of the building. (The basement area was not used either on such nights.) My point is... the club was truly massive.
Videos and photos simply don't do it justice. When the 'Chapel' rooms were open it all felt like being in a huge indoor festival. If they ever opened up the whole place at once (Chapel + Main Arena + Small Rooms + Rooftop + Basement) I was not there to see it... but it would have been unbelievable!
Those corridors... seemingly endless, winding staircases, so confusing. So much fun. The huge curving steep balconies in the main arena... dangerous and exhilarating. I fell down the steps and over some rows of seats a few times. But somehow never over the edge and onto the dance floor, as that would have been fatal! But people would be sitting, standing, dancing or chilling out up there together. Back then you could smoke inside clubs. So a bit of that went on too
Summertime was a great time to be in The Que. The sun coming up, pouring through the upper level windows from about 5am for the last 2 or 3 hours. Magical.
Such a variety of different music there too. The likes of Cream, Gatecrasher, Renaissance, BBC Essential Mix and Sundissential all held events there at some point. Underground Techno nights with the likes of Atomic Jam, House Of God. Psy-Trance with Space Hopper or one-off events with Infected Mushroom. Old Skool with Flashback. But I also recall Ultimate Orange, Logical Progression, Antidote (DnB)... some House nights with Pimp... of course The Bubble Club etc. I am just scratching the surface here. There were so many...

At 8 minutes and 4 seconds they go into 'The Chapel' area as it used to be called. As I mentioned above, it was (at least) two large rooms.
It was to the left of the building (if you were standing in Corporation Street looking at the main entrance).
There was another entrance, which I think allowed you to get straight into the Chapel without going through the main doors, above which was a sign that said 'The High Spot' if I recall correctly.

They also go into the basement and find the various rooms that were part of The Que Club (room with 'Secret' banner on the wall).
Plus ending up in an abandoned kebab shop (!) as there are various shops along the along Corporation Street side of the building.

When all of the rooms were open (including the Chapel) the place truly was enormous. This video makes it seems smaller somehow...
