Having trouble increasing my ratio,& thanks 4 a great websit, page 1

Hey all, first off , id just like 2 thank you 4 a great site.

One thing though is my ratio is rubbish, & I dont want to be banned, what I am finding is that once i have downloaded a set using azureus is that , the file then goes to seeding, but when that happens it says i am not connected to any peers?
help.

I also have some torrents to upload, but havent a clue how 2 , one thing at a time i guess.

The problem is that you aren't connectable.  You should be able to see this when clicking on your username to find out how to fix it please read the topic "sticky: IMPORTANT info about CONNECTABLE status" and the 300 other posts on this topic.

Having a complete nightmare with azurues.I have been banned 2.
I have been to the forums etc, but just cannot get people to connect.
I am pretty average with computers, but have tried everything to get started, but i am unable to connect with people once ive downloaded.
Im seeding but no one it seems can connect with me. Ive changed the port & all the other things suggested,even quitting the bittorent program & downloading again.
Its strange as at first i was able to upload a litle.
But now nothing, as i said ive spent about 6 hrs trying to fix & feel like smashing my computer to pieces, anyone ever heard the punk classic by the damned"smash it up"?
Anyhow if anyone can help in plain english 4 a novice, it would be much appreciated.
I do want to be a part of this great community,please help.

You should try using Utorrent, it might work out better for you.

I think that DHT should be disabled, cause in come trackers i read, that sometimes when it's enabled your ratio is not moving :)
I don't know is it true or not, but I disabled it :)

Thanks to the people who have tried to help.Ive re downloaded a newer version of azurues, & have managed to downlaod & seed a torrent drom another site, hurrah.
All I need to do now is upload some of the stuff I have downloaded from here, to get my ratio up.
However some of the stuff is now in my itunes folder etc.
Could someone please tell me how to get this stuff seeding so that I can rejoin the group,I'm presently banned.
As I said I think Ive fixed my bittorrent problems(fingers crossed).
I am really not that computer savvy, I'm amazed I even managed to downlaod anything,so in idiotspeak if u can.

Find the torrents that you have already downloaded by using the search button and then open the torrents from this website again.  Make sure to download them use the same folders you used before.  You should be able to add those torrents and start seeding them.  Also make sure the proper ports are open.

one thing: you can be connectable (called as active mode in dc++), but don't expect that there will be always someone who leech from you... leave your torrents runnign as long as you can. when someone downloads one of the sets you seed, your ratio will increase. but it won't increase when noone downloads it :)
