UK ban on the term "EDM", page 1

I'm sick and tired of hearing the term "EDM" it should be banned... the US media (and here in the UK)throw it around as if any of them know what real electronic music is....Its a all fits label to commercial rubbish and button pressing idiots who charge exorbitant fess to corn fed idiots who lap it up.... and to the likes of Maceo Plex, Richie Hawtin, Seaman, Warren, Sasha & Digweed, some how I don't think so!!!!!

Yeh i must say my wife uses the term "techno" all the time it shits me.....
Mind you i think she is coming around i did see her do a few laps of the house and an eletric boogoolo to Kintar's July Sudam mix.
If you can still hear the people talking then turn it up louder!

In France it's a Joke.
They call everything Techno! The average french person is clueless about electronic music.
Whether it's house/electro/trance/prog/techno/dubstep/breaks/garage/disco/DnB/blah/blah.
It's all Techno to most of them. They don't even know what Techno is. Laurent Garnier is the nearest they ever got.
The other day somebody tried to tell me (ME!) that the Swedish 'HOUSE' Mafia were making Trance!
I said Nooooooooooooooooon.
So, I played them a bit of a J00F set and then an Activa set and later some classic Goa/Psy tracks...... now the man is educated. Sort of.

takes more than that

To have a dig at Radio One (again) they think that 'Dance & Electronica' is covered by playing commercial and popular cheese-house and a pile of stilton-infused dub.
FAIL.

FAIL.
