Anti Announcemet (Delta FM) Rant, page 1

I love listening to Hernan Cattaneo's resident mixes for DeltaFM. But their saturation of announcements is so overly done that I am finding myself cringing with annoyance. It seems not enough that the beginning intro announcement is so much louder then the music that it is likely to blow out your speakers. They then announce "DeltaFM, Residence with Hernan Cattaneo, Hernan Cattaneo Live, and You are listening to Delta Radio" so many times that you might get hit 3 times in ten seconds and 10 times in 30. I might as well listen to an hour of MCDonalds hamburger commercials at this point.

I cant think of any other station that does this, or at least does it so much that it ruins otherwise perfect sets. Is there a monkey at the controls that is trained to get a peanut every time he hits the announcement button? Does DeltaFM think my intelligence so low that I don't know who I turned in for and need ten second reminders? Does DeltaFM dislike Hernans sets so much they feel the mix would be better covered up with announcements?

Advertising is an art and DeltaFM has no idea how to stroke the canvas. It won't make much of a difference if I stop listening and it would be unfortunate in my taste to have to stop listening to Hernan Cattaneo but I feel on the verge of finding mixes again where I can actually listen to the mix (Thank you Frisky Radio).

monkwgun i have been listening to Episode 48 and 49 yesterday and noted the same thing. I thought that Delta had upped the announcement, i recall in one break down to a track the jingle played three times, DISGRACEFUL!

I can't imagine Hernan would be happy about this amount of saturation of advertising and yes listeners are starting to notice as well. Lets hope someone is listening. It does spoil 7 to 8 quality tracks per week that Hernan plays.

yeah you bang on monkwgun,i get hacked off with interviews at live events over the middle of a set,what the hell is all that about.

cant soomeone just e-mail Delta and ask them politely. if not then why not a lot of Cattaneo's fans just e-mail him about it.

if he the finds that his inbox is full of compliants from fans, i dont mean 10 or 15, i mean a large number. then he might listen

as well as the station, if a few hundred people e-mail them, i dont think it will go unheard, or will it?

its the essential mix that is bad now....

same goes for some of the old stupid JOC podcasts....

i say we don't do anything, cause he'll disappear again for a year, what we gonna do???
