tribalmixes PODCAST ? would u want one?, page 1

i'm feeling kind of confused and ashamed to say, i don't know what is the difference between a podcast and a liveset? so far i've only noticed the size difference, so lenght of a podcast would usually be about 30 min, when livesets ar usually 1hr+ long. is there any bitrate or other differences?

saying this, i wanted to ask you guys if it would make sense to have tribalmixes podcast accessible as a direct download (no torrents) and probably without even registration. but then i don't know if we must have our own music for podcast, like one of our featured djs mixes, or we could put famous names for podcasts, if no sound-wise difference exists between them...

I guess it has nothing to do with playtime nor with live or studio set. It's just self made music...and the automatic delivery to mp3 players...via blogs or rss feeds...

..but it could be a nice feature as kind of appetizer for tribalmixes interested people:)

well, having our featured djs played music pretty much in any style, and playing more, we could make a bi-/weekly podcast with best "parts" of their mixes. i'm sure bandwidth won't be hurt by that. but then we would have to watch that podcast not to go outside to direct-dl-forums... :)

it would be nice to have pro-moe's weekly podcast & I was always wondering if it's just for ipods? or is it just an mp3 file

podcasts can be heard with all the program with which u listen to music i believe, for example on itunes  it says that podcasts are radio shows that are downloaded over the internet and by subscribing to them itunes will automatically download new episodes...cool no?
i think it can be a pretty good idea to do that, i think that probably between us users there are several djs and then why not give them a 2 hrs mix every week? maybe they can become famous!!!
