Can upload but not connectable???, page 1

Can any body help me on this please.......

I am unconnectable but can upload?, even though its not much (about 1/2 kbs and not for long). Even when i leave my computer on for days i hardly upload anything. I Dont have a problem uploaded to other sites. Im using Bit-tornado.  i have checked FAQ and think i tried every thing, but still im having this problem.

Any help on this will be greatly aprechaited.

have you tried www.portforward.com ? or changing your torrent client to utorrent ?
it's a bitch really i can't get connected .. my isp has blocked me from changing any setting in my modem.. gits.

Thanks for your advice gwende. I have tried port forward, but i couldnt access my router page after changing my IP addresses etc. It sent me to the netgear home page??? so i couldnt continue with what portforward advised.

I will try changing my bit torrent client, but do u think that will help? Its getting quite frustrating as i can upload (and usually to much) to other peer sites. I just seem to have a problem, along with alot of others by the looks of it, to tribalmixes, which great shame as i dont want to get banned as i use this site alot. Ive even thought of asking to donate to them to keep my ratio in check lol

Im guessing you are having the same problem as myself. How come your ISP has blocked you changing your settings? Who are you with and are they aloud to do that?

I tried utorrent and now im only 75% not connectable instead of 100%. I guess its a start lol

Hi,
My experience tells me there are three reasons for this to happen:
1) The first one is trivial - port forwarding /firewaling.
As to the port forwarding, use UPnP port mapping.
2) ISP can shape the traffic also resulting in broken connection and not connectable status.
3) Windows can reduce the speed of establishing new connections ("Half open connections") which can lead to not connectable status also.

As long as you have some percentage of connectable torrents the first reason doesn't apply.

Once you have done with the proper port forwarding /firewaling the open port test should succeed every time you run it. If some times these tests fail then the reason should be the ISP
You can check for the second reason using multiple Internet connection speed tests every time you see problems. This is not reliable but it has helped me to resolve my problems by showing the ISP the drops of my upload speed.

To check for the third reason use the Event Viewer to check out for the Even 4226 in the System log. uTorrent shows the number of half-open in its Statistics also.

cheers spasv. im sorted now. changing my client to utorrent has worked. im 100% connectable and my share ratio is catching up. thanks anyway  

problem is this site..... i have 7,8 torrent sites and there is evryting ok

no, the problem is not the site its you. i am working fine with the site i never had a problem except
in the beginning when i did not have an open port
