dedicated server dream... :), page 1

as you can probably see on the status panel on top we have launched a donation meter originated to raise funds to rent a dedicated server for the website. all that because shared hosting is not the best choice for a torrent tracker, so many problems with connectability and transfer speeds can be found.

that's where dedicated hosting steps in, so website growth will be supported by better hardware, faster sql processing and no connectability issues (in case you do it right). also this server will allow us to run any kinds of software on it, that will be some unix-based client, which will take care of most transfers
with upload speed around 200kbps, letting you leech files in minutes. after that we will most likely remove ratio-watch, or bring it down lower. also donation can bring up your ratio right now, so that is up to you. all donations are summarized and shown in the table above. also showing your personal part in it. all users with stars have donated already! do you want to help out the website and donate a little towards a better future here? check this page!

more about Google Ads right there or on any torrent details pages, which you can see when downloading a new torrent. if you want to help out for dedicated server rent and have no money, you can click those ads and it will contribute to the total. so far we don't reflect ads income in the funds raised, because we only have $6.50 after 2 months of ads, about 14.000 of ad blocks shown, only 76 clicks, 28 of them yesterday (HUGE thanks), and that yesterday has put $2.34 into that first noted amount. so basically i'd say 1 click brings about $0.10, but it varies on many factors, as for ad price, block price range, total shown by total clicked and more. so if you make 1 click a day, in a month you'll probably produce about $3. thanks.

and also there's a little thing - they don't send money until you have some $50 or $100 amount earned. so basically if $100 off the ads isn't reached by the time new hosting upgrade is needed, we'll do without it. and keep that for future.

I hope you will be able to get enough mney for the server. I will make a small (I'm only a poor student) donation  one of these days, but I fist have to sort out my paypal account, it doesn't work at the moment, but I know the problem.
Its nice to see that my clicking the google ads yesterday made a small difference, I'll try to click them as much as possible

anyways, i was saying, don't do that too much, cause it might look suspicious and stuff. or maybe i'm paranoidal. 1-2 clicks every 3-4 hours is great too. and not suspicious in paranoic's mind..:)
