to tell you guys the truth, i've been having hard times lately, which i'm not going to talk about here of course, but wanted to mention one especially annoying problem with my old computer, which was... the old computer... for the last two years i had to start it shortening two contact wires, since the on/off button broke long time ago, and keep tower laying on the side, since overheating processor required a huge fan which was simply standing on the processor, being held by silver compound.. later times power supply fan was stopping, so i had to manually start it, like in old airplanes, and cpu fan was failing as well, sometimes computer would stop at night... anyways, to make this story short, i'm out of money, for a million of reasons, but i needed a new computer, so i "borrowed" some 440 dollars from the website money and ordered a refurbished cure2duo gateway desktop, which i'm praying will work fine, but who knows, since it's a pure steal for $1k value, and all this i've been talking here... i feel kinda weird, spending website money like this, but i do need a new computer, the one i'm using now has system on old slow 40gb wd hdd and 4 times less memory, my old memory doesn't fit, since it's an older generation, and sitting on it simply makes my life a living hell, anyways, i've used donated money and wanted to let everyone know about it. i'm not sure if i did a right thing, so please tell me what you think about all this..

Well, personally I feel that you really need to be on here too. To make sure things are savvy and going as need to be. So, If you need a pc then it's not a problem. The price you paid is not that much at all really either, so it's not that big of a deal. It's like this is your house and we're the guests, if your key is broke then you really do need to replace it.

ok, i have to say i was about to do exactly the same in that situation if i had no other choise and should inform the users in short words about all this. we're proud u did the right thing and let us know

Enjoy your new computer slash, and boca makes a very valid point. This is your house we're just guests. Glad to be in your house. Take Care, Alex

Okay, so I only discovered this site yesterday - and oh, how I wish I had found you guys sooner!
Anyways, during the last 24 hours Ive done a good lot of reading through the various forums and the with what ive seen so far is not only is it your site Slash, but it would seem the forums would be far worse off without your input - so yes, I know Im new here but I think you have definitely done the right thing
it did make me laugh a bit though when you mentioned "hand starting your old PCs fan"

you're laughing, and i've lost some couple of good projects through that. and i did put apart the power supply, took out the fan and hand started it twice, second time i was spinning it for 5-6 minutes before it finally picked up...
anyways, thanks guys for your trust.. i've got a refurbished computer, with intel cure 2 duo 1.83ghz, 2GB RAM and 400GB hdd, so expect me seeding 1k torrents in a few months again... it was only around $400 with delivery, i think it was returned cause the case was scratched... ghm... well, in my house, tomorrow i bet that case will go, as well as some unneeded junk and needed missing junk will go in... =)

hey slash, without you (and your computer) the site wouldn't keep going/growing... so in my humble opinion that was totally acceptable.... 8)
