What is the smallest unit of time?
The smallest unit of time is known as Planck's time, 10**-43 seconds. It is the amount of time it takes the fastest thing, light, travelling at 3x10**8 metres per second, to cross the smallest distance, the Planck length, 10**-35 m.
The smallest unit of distance that we can actually measure is an Angstrom – this is 10 million times smaller than a millimetre. There are even smaller units than this, a femtometer (also known as a fermi) is 100,000 times smaller, and is about the size of an atomic nucleus.
Now referring back to what you said about time and the planets and all. Even ourselves fibrate at frequency.
Here's my comment and please don't take this as the truth, rather just think about it or go find out if it is the truth:
A TV produces on average 50Hz - that is 50 pictures per second. Some TVs go up to 250Hz these day. We human beings also have a frequesncy, so we flickers also, but at an alarming fast rate.We so to speak flip in and out out of reality 10**. Where are we then when we we are not here for that very very very smll moment....and then back again?
:-)
hi

cool"Where are we then when we we are not here for that very very very small moment....and then back
again?
"Well I can only speak for my own "Flickering",though in that minuscule amount of time, I like to go and live a thousand life times in the far reaches of the galaxy on a planet called Rhythm
.Ok I made that bit up
. Biologically I'm kind of kept securely in a location by gravity.Music is physics brought to life with biology.

I am resonating on that thought of yours. Hope I'm not bothering

hi

Resonate
Or don't resonate and instead! Hibernate !.
Hehe obviously (to me anyway) the above is simply meant as a silly joke written in jest.
Please do not think for one moment that I am implying that people should eat huge amounts of food in order to put on weight. Then when it gets cold find a toasty place and slow down your biological process and go into a very deep sleep for maybe months .
But some animals can actually do that!
. Now that is bad-ass survival tech!

What other things in our lives could we say are a form of timing?.
1. Our clocks are a obvious instrument used for timing a length of....? well what people call time.
The 24 hour clock has been calibrated that way because it takes approximately 24 hours for the Planet Earth to make a full rotation.Day and night!. (actually 23 hours 56 minutes and 4 seconds to rotate on its axis)
Thus a day is split up into hours and hours into minutes and minutes into seconds and seconds into milliseconds etc. On the larger scale of timing there are 30.4368 days in a month and 12 months in a year.
It takes 365 days , 6 hours , 45 minutes and 48 seconds for the earth to go around the sun ( A year).
So it would seem music has allot in common with the solar system ( or heavenly bodies if you prefer) that our Planet is located within.
There are also it seems many random events or at least events that nobody or thing can predict with any certainty. The spin of a coin for example.
Now I think that is pretty astounding. That we have in existence timing and music but also chaos and noise.
They both exist together!
whatever music "is" it is not a absolute!
Any other thoughts or critique of my ideas welcome! .
