england took no strikers worth a damn besides Rooney(who is suspended till game 3). Carroll has been shite, Welbeck is injured and they took defoe who misfired all season but NO grant holt, who has proven, he can score with the big boys.
too many old players
Spain will probably falter this time. Germany has a great shot but gomez has been utter shite. You have Italy (please do not win, I do not need the street parties in toronto).
Lots of great teams

I won't waste my time watching a set of english nobodys who have no calibre in the big arena or any arena for that matter, time better spent doing something more entertaining and stimualting

I will watch some other games, maybe worth watching the Frogs Vs our twats and see what happens, however it could be a borefest (more than likely)!! Without Rooney they are a spent force already!!!

still do not get, how they pick the same old spent force like lamps, terry among others. Such uselessness. Do not worry people, I will pick another team in a few minutes to go thru.
Goalkeepers - Joe Hart, Robert Green, John Ruddy.
Defenders - Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson, Phil Jones, Joleon Lescott, John Terry.
Midfielders - Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Ashley Young.
Strikers - Andy Carroll, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck.
Standby - Jack Butland, Phil Jagielka, Jordan Henderson, Adam Johnson, Daniel Sturridge.
Joe Hart is really the only decent keeper, Ruddy is injured, so you have 19yr old as backup.
Defence better get it together, when Germany tore them apart in 2010, it showed how slow and old they were. Baines is very good, Cahill is good. Cole is too slow. Johnson is always injured. Phil Jones is solid but makes the odd mistake. Lescott is better than Terry but they will keep playing the racist old man.
The midfield is too hit and miss. You got Downing, who did shitall with liverpool. Lamps is too old, Gerrard needs to carry that. Poor parker is walking wounded. I'd play the Ox over walcott, the speed is that guy
Strikers are poor apart from rooney, they going to play the 1 up front. Carroll had a horrid year and Defoe was misfiring and Welbeck is too young and too misfiring. Holt should have been brought in

Either way mate, I won't be making time for it, unless I am sat in front of the TV (no chance of that) to much music and not enough time!!!

I have to say i'm dissapointed after reading some of the above comments... It seems as if there are too many people that want England/Hodgson to Fail. Andy I think Andy Carrol is bang in form, has trained well with England and was playing great towards the end of the season after a terrible start to his Liverpool career. Yes agreed it is going to be tough!! But we have to be optimistic because if we don't then they will have failed already... come on guys lets get behind England!!
& If your not English then cheer on your respective teams, Lets enjoy this tournament for what it is!!!!! Where ever you are what ever your doing.. Have a great summer

My problem is not England, it is they too often pick the old, out of form players. I would have taken Holt over Carroll anyday.
The problem is that England cannot get anywhere in major comps these days. You expect better, given the quality of the Premier League. I do not care who is the coach, I expect better from England. The competition will be tough, there are no easy teams in the Euro 2012
I think Gerrard said it correctly this week, when they picked players that did not gel together.
He was right
England tends to accept mediocre results.
We finished 6th at the Olympics Ice Hockey one year and had a conference because here it is a national problem...lmao.

I think I have just been disappointed in the past cookie, thats all and this team doesn't seem any different from any other, I will reserve judgement until after the 3 games..I will defintely watch other big games as well, to see how the other big teams fare
