funky house, eh?
check out these djs, some of their mixes are on the website: Brian Laruso (amazing style), Mark Farina (nothing here, but he plays well funk sometimes), Felix da Housecat (mixed genres), David Morales (a veteran of funk), Eric Morillo (with funky progressive house), Roger Sanches (sometimes shows funky head out), James Lavelle (with his amazing mixture of old and new discofunk) and many more you could find. just look around.
but if you want to drop funk right now and get into REAL music :), then here's the better list: Steve Lawler, Chus & Ceballos, Saeed, Deep Dish, James Zabiela, Danny Tenaglia, Danny Howells, Julian Poker, Anthony Pappa, John Creamer, Chtis Fortier and Lee Burridge to top it off. if you evolve into TRIBAL house, i'll be your first fan! :)

Ellow
I would recomand you Eddie the Fish for wocal or Dirty Bandits, which plays, for me, the best house. Also ckeck for Kanzyani, Gadjo has his best hit Watching you, wich can be remixed very easily.
I was also Dj-ing for some time (when I was home alone....don't ask
). I prefer taking beat from Kanzyanis Rock The Discotheque and some wocal from Leky & K-Paul or WestBam.
Really looking foward to hear your music.....
Best way to express yourself is music

Cheers for the input guys!
Will have a listen to some of those, just wary of downloading a load of stuff because im obviously not uploading any torrents at the mo, to be honest most of my stuff is mix cd's etc at the mo.
Need to do something to get my ratio up, best i can do for now is keep seeding everything i download and hope that works.
As for the tribal stuff im not really sure, i mean obviously my tastes will mature as i get more skilled and experienced, we shall see!
Basically i have been djing at parties and collecting music for a few years and have always wanted to learn to beatmix etc. Just seems like a natural thing for me to go into.
I have always loved being able to read ppl and play what they want to hear. Love getting a party going!
Just need to learn the technical stuff!

Ive had my decks for a couple of months now and its slowly starting to fall into place now it think!
Ive got really into funky house, probably cos its all over the charts at the mo but im just really into vocals.
This site looks awesome, well done! Its like a gold mine on here!
Basically i was wondering if any1 could point me in the right direction of who or what to listen to for a bit of inspiration?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. :)
