This mix starts off with some funk.A fun, fresh & funky rhythm to get things moving along, then seamlessly flowing into the next track, still including some elements of funk.
This funky theme moves onto music that users more percussion or drums to hold the rhythm & replaces the dominant funky bass of the previous tracks .
The progressive percussive sounds becoming more prominent as this mix beautifully heads towards some fine almost traditional sounding tracks, that include some tribal sounding chants .
Though this mix keeps a central theme,it moves nicely onto different variations, with superb 'on the beat' transitions from the sound of the traditional drum to the more modern snare's & piano. And then back again onto some fantastically percussive tracks. The drums being interlaced with subtle percussion & other harmonic sound that together can make a percussive tapestry, that when combined with dancing can move the body in an all engrossing synergy of refined controlled movement .Heightening the conscoiuness to the point that you know exactly why your heart does 'Beat'.
Throughout this mix their is very little song or words to take the listeners attention away from the Rhythm, apart from the style of traditional chanting which is a very rhythmical way of singing.A few tracks near to the end of this mix do spoil the overall quality & are out of place in what up until then was a very earthy sounding mix.Maybe the Dj was running out of Good quality tracks near the end of the mix?.
Overall a very fine Mix which stands out as a thoughtful, musically mature, and progressive that user's rhythm to master a mix.
