But you know it's only a matter of time till someone comes along and does it better / faster

"it's only a matter of time till someone comes ..."Yes, your are right.
But this someone should know he needs resources, many recources.
I have added 500 GB HD recently.
But time ... I feel I have not enough.
Maybe it is time for me to finish.

i'm all excited, like, i'm gonna find this thread now and post that i finally hit 1000 torrents in my client, seeding all at once, and what do i see when i click vfr's name just to check it out? he's nearing 2k torrents... damn... that'll be hard for me... i could hit that 1k earlier, but never had enough storage for more than 600-700 seeded, always would clean them up, but not now with my old pc still online and new one with 300gb hdd - i'll be going adding longer and longer...
ps.. just imagine, vfr's running from 6 to 10% of all seeds on the tracker!!! varies depending on the global amount of peers, usually 20k to 30k...

well done mate! i cant seed more than 700 at once
vfr is a monster
vfr is a monster

Well When I reached the 600 torrents on my PC I think it got mad and started removing my torrents and don't want to open any applications I think I won't be able to reach the 1k torrent in my utorrent until I change my PC and add couple more HDD + a faster connection , and this will be soon coz finally we've got the 24 MB connection in Egypt

And I thought I was getting somewhere with 800, lol

hehe... i've had 5-600 going for last 2 months, but only because i had to turn off my old monitorless computer for these 2 months just to prove to my girl that that computer won't put too much extra on the electric bill... now that i've proven my point, i put this older computer back online, and what do i see - 1000 torrents total... =)

I'm in, finally made my way into the 1000 Club

congrats dude

good job, good job!! =)
i had to step down, not that i had to, but i decided to... i have about 400 more torrents ready-to-seed on the other computer, the one i'm not running now, cause it's old fan was malfunctioning, so i attached a bigger one on the outside of the tower, so damn thingie is very very loud, and it really disturbs me... but what do you know, i'm seeding 831 torrent, all from my new 400gb hdd.. i didn't need to rearrange for months... bu the time is coming... only 80gb left free...

not seeding anything for a while but im coming......

Wow! Thanks for your contribution, mate!

So, what my resources are and where the bottleneck is?
Pentium D dual core CPU 3.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 2 250 GB (Serial ATA) HD
I usually cannot load the processor. The applications I work with use one thread of execution so it is possible for me to load the CPU 100% when two instances of NeroAACenc.exe are working simultaneously.
The interesting thing is NeroAACenc reports “Processed 3654 seconds...” (more than one hour processing time) for an hour set compressed as VBR avg 211 kbps while it takes less than 5 minutes. So, a fast multi-core processor is definitely useful.
Obviously Azureus does not use HD when process the torrent files because I could run less than 400 torrents with it.
My HDs are almost full and I cannot hold my row .wav files. I do not even try a FLAC compression because currently I work with about 50 GB free HD storage.
I used to use a 2 mb/s upload Internet connection and even then that speed was not enough for the peak upload. (It is a tragedy with something about 380 kb/s now.)
The bottom line:
• 2 mb/s up or faster Internet connection,
• more than 1 TB HD storage,
• 2 GB RAM or more,
• dual core CPU or more powerful.
