generally speaking, your upload rate will be much slower than your download rate... (in my case, my max download speed of 16mbps is 8x faster than my max upload speed of 2mbps). just keep your client open longer (overnite helps a lot
) to help increase your ratio...

)

that was the issue i had down in palm harbor, fl (Tampa Bay outskirts) i was surrounded by FIOS customers not even 2 blocks away, but they wouldnt come and hook me up.... got me so frusterated with them.. haha.. now i have 10 down 1 up like bocaccio11... Charter.. the best i can get up HERE... for now

As to "Is there a way to increase the u/l rate":Given an ISP what you can do is:
• decrease the number of active Internet connections while uploading. Every connection receives some part of the bandwidth available even if it is slow.
• check the Up Speed setup of the BitTorrent client you use – there should not be restrictions (usually the download speed is proportional to the upload speed, which tells me you should not have restrictions on the up speed)
• try another BitTorrent client – I think some are faster than others
• do not use system resources when they are not needed and set the highest process priority (Windows Task Manager under Windows OS)
