ok, i revised, for some reason link 'prevois polls' on main page poll doesn't show that old poll. the question was 'do you want to be a dj?' and it produced really marvelous results. i think we could run it again since it disappeared from history.. was lots of fun.

I love music and mixing so much but about 90 % of the djs all around are suckers, all of them are commercial djs, they are mixing for stardom and money, not for the music passion ...

in trance u can not find djs who mix for money, they mix for the crowd and in the first place for themselves.

I know how to mix on a real mixer with CDs and Vinyls,on ableton,on traktor AND i mixed with these things many times...but never at a party
(couse im 13
) ...
DJing is really not so easy...its hard to leave in such a world with drugs, girls, alcohol, day sleeping and night working AND to find the best tracks to play
Its really hard

Yea Very Hard Work!!

Why not?

I want to be a DJ really bad sometimes

Do I want to be a Dj?
Sometimes
Sometimes

Music is physics brought to life with biology.

I'm wondering how each one finds NEW & DIFFERENT music that every other DJ isn't using in their sets (without making their own).
To me, I don't think there is enough time in the day to listen to everything out there. I'm amazed at how quickly time passes when I'm just listening for hours and hours during the day doing stuff around the house. Imagine HAVING to listen all of the time for your job?
Yes, you would have to LOVE music . . . sleep, eat, and breathe music . . . to make it a career, but wouldn't you need to take a break sometimes?
I'd almost be afraid that it would take away the JOY of listening to music all together. I once heard DJ Heidi (love her!!) say that when she listens to music just to listen and not for work, she doesn't listen to house.
And that lifestyle! I lived a similar lifestyle (in clubs) when I promoted and toured with bands "back-in-the-day" and it's very unhealthy, especially if you are partaking in certain extracurricular activities (nod, nod - wink, wink). It catches up to you after a while.
Even though I would NOT like to become a professional DJ, I WOULD still like to learn how to spin. I had over 4,000 pieces of vinyl at one time and would like to learn how to DJ with vinyl, but even learning with CDs, a thumb drive, and/or a laptop would be interesting.
That's just my 2 cents.

Luver of DEEP, soul-pounding BEATS!!
Get Your Beats and Pound Me Deeper, Harder, Faster . . .
. . . Ohhh Yeah, that's the way I like it!!
