Help a poor brain understand TM's system

I haven't used tms much since I registered for one reason: last time I tried to figure how the website download/upload system works, I always was more confused than anything. Mainly how would one raise his ratio. I did seed few torrents I downloaded for some time, yet my share-ratio says 0.

Could be the torrent client I used wasn't working properly, dunno?

Any tips on that? I did read the wiki articles, still confused. Would love to keep my ratio in tact, but one needs to start from somewhere, you know.

If you are "connectable" then (if sharing files) your ratio should improve over time.  That is the first thing to check. Seems you might not be....

I believe the ratio is less of an issue than it was before, however being connectable is always helpful for seeding. What client are you using?

Had absolutely no clue about the "connectable" thing you 2 mentioned. Lesson learned...

it's not an issue, ratio system only means to scare people into seeding back in the days, otherwise right now i don't think it's an issue, can't seed - just downloads, as long as you have them seeding - eventually something will come out and something will be seeded to someone
