Our emails can now reach hotmail/live/outlook (group of mailers by Microsoft)

after years of painful rejections (of tribalmixes.com emails to outlook.*, hotmail.* and other emailers owned/operated/by/from Microsoft group of companies), i finally decided to do something about it. as i was filing a ticket with hosting provider, their automated system insisted i check an article before submitting the ticket, where there was everything explained and a single link to microsoft/office related mailing complaints page, where i sent my complain, hours later received a reply saying "we don't see why you shouldn't be getting emails thru", and voila, they did do something tho, because today i see 2 emails went out to hotmail.com and hotmail.co.uk without being returned to sender!!

as usual, it was quite easy, just needed to do something about it..

actually they still cannot reach hotmail.. not hotmail of any nation, not live, not outlook. seems they worked for a bit, then stopped again. maybe i should submit that complaint again.

just an update. once again i contacted the microsoft team in charge of emails and such, this time got in touch with a real person or so i assume, and supposedly they eased the reason behind emails not going to outlook/hotmail/live (and their geo-variants) group of mail processing servers. some stuff about IP reputation and so on, nothing that i personally have any power over. well, we shall see.. last time i tried, as documented above, a few emails went out, and then it got back to the usual replies of rate-limiting.. what rate-limiting? the 4-5 emails to hotmail per month is too much? what kind of rate-limit is that...

this is not about sending out mass emails, that's not happening on my watch. this is just about people trying to get back into their old accounts. hotmail was one of the biggest email providers back in 2000-s, AFAIR.. and outlook just gets under your skin..

so there's been only 1 email so far going out to hotmail and it has not returned yet.. maybe something got fixed after all.

If its not bounced back (most MX have a default time)  straight away then at least its got there and you will be at least /white listed . For most MX you can supply and prove your domain if mail is repeatedly bouncing back,  but it looks like you  don't even need to do this, however I have long since stopped relying on any mail services from MS.com.

same here, these are legacy accounts from long long ago that people regain access to. back then hotmail was the hot shit.. =)

as for DNS setup, i got SPF, i got DKIM, i got everything in the right places. it was just them, - the ms-owned emailing services. our emails were rate-limited even that there were a max of 4-5 emails a month. go figure.. it is still rate-limited, according to their reply, just this limitation was eased off a bit..
