Shoutbox features

Anyone else think site could benefit from the ability ignore/block users and shadowban (for mods) in the shoutbox? Are there any plans to add these features? Would any help (dev) be of use?

You would need to speak to the admin on the site for those sort of features to be added.  We should have a more modern chat component.

unfortunately admin is no longer with us, you might want to aim this at sysop

admin never did anything code related. JFYI

shoutbox now works same as the rest of the site - if you block a user, you will not see their activity whatsoever, unless it's in the 2nd knee (like when someone quotes a comment or forum post by a user you blocked, then you will be seeing that comment or post)
