Hey,

Just wondering if anybody uses any specific seedbox software or services that they could recommend.

Thanks

my first provider was xirvik, I will speak very highly of their servers performance and service....

Other providers which i have tried along the way, but left through either poor service levels or poor performance..... DTSLeech and Pulsedmedia, although the performance was good with these two companies, delays in response time is what tainted my experience.

Spend a few hours reading up how to make your own seedbox, great learning curve and will give you flexibility to use a high speed connection for more than just a seedbox :-)

Sweet, thanks for the recommendations.

I have rented a VPS with a Gigabit up-link and 500GB SSD for $5 USD per month (so cheap!), I installed utorrent server with plans to install rutorrent.

Will also be sure to check out xirvik aswell.

Thanks again! :-D

I have used seed.st without any problems for a long time, l only use their $5 a month vpn service, however the seedboxes they have were always running full tilt and you got what you paid for..excellent service

It was on special and was the last one left  :-(

However I managed to find a VPS host called 'VPSDime'

High RAM and Storage options are available.

You can get a 500GB HDD server for $7USD a month
- 4 vCPU
- 2GB Memory
- 4TB Traffic Limit
- 1Gbps Connection

However they limit torrents to private trackers only and polity ask that you cap your torrent speeds to 50Mbps.

My friend has been with them for 3 months and says there pretty good, cheap too.  :-D

I was with Seed.st for a few months on their 100mbit plan. It was a good introduction to seedboxing for a small cost, but in the long run I had tons of issues with usability and responsiveness of the interface. The speed was decent with downloads peaking in the 20 MB/s range and uploads as high as 5-9 MB/s.

I have since switched to The Seedbox Company on a SB-02 plan and have been very happy with my server. They provide tons of extras: a non-root shell, VPN connection, VNC connection, etc. I have had almost no issues with responsiveness or downtime. It is unmetered Gbit with lots of storage space. It's a midrange price, but I consider it a great value for all you get with it.
