Adam Beyer is not a stupid man, look at 108 Releases for his label Drumcode. He has Ida Engberg as a girlfriend, who he has a kid with. The kid will be a techno legend, he has the genes from both parents and look out in 15-18 years. Anyway Adam has brought back the famous Pontape from Brazilian DJ Renato Cohen. Remember folks, the original was released on Carl Cox's Intec label and it was hammered by every deejay worth a damn in 2002. It was a brutal driving track and Adam Beyer used it to great effect in his legendary 2002 Essential Mix along with Cave's Circus but that is a story for another time. Also I might add, it was Carl Cox who created the mighty white label that made the purists mad but it did maximum damage on the dancefloor. He merged Pontape with Tim Deluxe feat. Sam Obernik - It Just Wont Do which was called Just Kick. I loved both tracks and thought it was a decent track that was for the dancefloors. Techno Purists hated it but Carl always thinks of the dancefloor.

So here on Drumcode 108, you have the 2013 Remake, which lots of deejays have been hammering. I believe there was a 2012 Remake released on white. I know Ben Sims hammered it!. Anyway on the remix duties is the UK's Alan Fitzpatrick.

2.Pontape 2013 Remake (Alan Fitzpatrick Remix)

I personally love the original so much, so you can find bias in my opinion. Its an update, not as good as the original but its a decent remake. The remake does not cheapen the original, it just adds a few things to the original but keeps the best parts!.

The remix is not bad but since I love the original, I tend to give it higher praise. Its a good remix but so many fans loved the original as well. Alan Fitzpatrick is a good pick for remix duties but he does the damage along with my other favorite UK techno deejays Paul Mac, Mark Broom, Ben Sims, Regis, Surgeon and Oliver Ho (before Raudive!).
