Because I f**king hate incessant soundbites and DJ bollox talking of any language,  I posted this on one of Ibiza Sonica's mixes...

This is the response I got, not replied yet, but definitely going to give both barrels when I do..

"Hi paul. Igor here. Director of ibiza sonica. Thanks for your creative message at JD live from Privilege. Let me explain you something.... Speaking over the mixes and droping voiceovers alouds us to broadcast this content. We are always asked by the artists/managers or the venue to speak/drop a jingle over every single track which means every 7'. We know sometimes sounds boring but please feel like this is a live broadcast, not a set recorded somewhere. Hope you keep listening us with love and respect."

So basically to stop people selling the mixes, maybe labelled as something else or to nab the tracks maybe?

As if anyone would be arsed!

I don't bother with Ibiza Sonica anymore.

Munkyn I hear you...

The question i put to Igor, is the amount of talk absolutely necessary that Ibiza Sonica use or is it just excessive? I know he puts it down to what the dj or producer ask for but it spoils what they are broadcasting. I don't think he has taken the time to play it back and listen to it after the fact.

Just like what Delta were doing to Hernans mixes for a while it is excessive and spoils the whole flow and enjoyment to a mix. Delta have now eased on the repetitiveness of that jingle. The mix now has a much better flow and is compliant to what djs and producer want.

At least it was a decent answer, imagine if Ingo answered that one....

Definitely Dan, thats why I don't listen to it... the DJs and events don't need some tin pot radio show to make them any bigger than they already are... complete joke and completely out of touch

My response....

Igor, regarding the incesssant talking and  constant jingles on Ibiza Sonica DJ sets, firstly the vast majority of the world does not speak Spanish so only a small percentage will understand what these annoying spanish DJ's are on about and its down right ignorant especially if you are broadcasting to a global audience or supposed to be.

As far as the jingles, they're very lame, far to often, highly irritating and ensure that any broadcast comes across tacky and very poor from start to finish. Any credible DJ (Digweed,  Sasha, Nick Warren, Hernan Catteneo)   or  venue (Space, DC10) needs exposure from a station (in Ibiza)  promoted and pushed in a highly irraitating unprofessional way.

I suggest if you want to become a world recognised radio station, which you will never achieve in any life time, if you continue to ruin year in year out sublime mixes from the worlds biggest and best DJs,  I suggest you drop the cheese laden crap and take a leaf out of Frisky Radio ( I suggest you listen to Nick Warren's Soundgarden) Transtions ( Digweed) Eelke Kleijn - Outside the box,  whose shows focus on the music and not the self righteous Dj's and station jingles you  broadcast on your radio station.

If you are the Director of Ibiza Sonica, then I suggest you heed these words,  as I have also polled the members  of a music site I am major member (we are  the top music (and first) site for DJ sets/mixes globally) and the concensus is the same, is that, its the music thats important and not the voice of hosting DJ or piss poor jingles (or kept to a minimim at the start or the finish of a DJ set)
RichTeestar Moderator on October 23rd, 2012 / post 53648
Not just Frisky, but Proton, ETN.FM, DI.FM  and Afterhours.FM all keep the jingles and talking to a total minimum.

They cannot be considered to be taking the music seriously whilst they play continuous sound bites and waffles over the tunage.
