I like it Andy, really good mix!

No stand out tracks just good, solid, easy listening deep house....

I wasn't aware that Dusky was under the Anjunadeep label, one more positive if you ask me...

I was looking through the list of 2011 EM yesterday. For me this is the year that Radio 1 lost it completely in regards to EM guests.... Check it out if you get a chance...

I would have to agree 2011 was a 5hite for the Essential Mix.

Do you know every year I had collected all the Essential Mixes, going all the way back to numero uno in 1993.

But midway through 2011 I jacked in collecting them and have only bothered to listen to about 50% of them fully this year so far.

The rest I've just skipped through on the iPlayer.

They could get back to form, but only if they start selecting quality DJ's & Producers again.

As for last weeks effort by Photek, pretty good stuff and quite varied.

I give it maybe 7.5/10.

As for this week, as it's a Sunday and I've nothing much on thanks to the weather... I'm D/L it now...

Essential Mix went shite in mid 2006 imo. There were great ones but the lists kept getting smaller and smaller. Tongy and co just keep bringing more shite. Think that Nick Warren has not had one in ages and Hybrid has not been given one ever (think of steve aoki and other shite, given many EMs)

Yeah, so I played the mix for this week and it's not bad really. About a 7/10.

We really need a Nick Warren Essential Mix.

SASHA is long overdue.

More Joris Voorn and a Guy J or another Hernan Cattaneo as as well.

See Photek's EM was quality, nothing legendary! 8/10, which is the best one I've heard in a while. DrumSound and Bassline Smith was epic but nothing legendary.

the world needs more Carl Cox. He played 2 hrs but they wasted 2 hrs with tolfrey and sneak. Give 4 hrs to Coxy and let him show the twats....the old gits still got life :thumbsup:

I thought some of the tracks on this were quite of the UK garage genre .... hence I liked them as I've spent much of my youth subjected to it and it rubbed off on me.
