The clubs one has a bit of a problem though - Mauro Picotto's Meganite nights are held IN Privelige  :-P

And what happened to Carl Cox?? Or Oakenfold...

And Erik Morillo soooo far down the list - I'm not even fond of his music - but the man is an absolute mixing genius on the decks

And Flower Powder too - maybe a lot of people dont like his (and her) sound - but they mix flawlessly - maybe they got marked down for leaving TM radio and doing their own thing LOL.

And maybe the "others" category shouldnt be up - cant see how the word "Podcast" can be placed higher than the mighty "Mixmag"  :-P

And,...

Seriously though, its been fun. Also, congrats to the TM folk who placed high up the list - well done.

Roll on IDC '10

salsh you should simplpy exclude DJs who aren't DJs from the list, menaing Deep Dish.
Also, i bet most ppl who voted in this poll didn't take it as their top DJs of 2009, but just simply scored the DJs as to how much they like him/them...whether it from be4 or now.

Personally, i'm obv well aware that Deep Dish is gone  :-(  but i still rated them a 9 as i will always love them as they were...

The ability for a Dj to choose quality dance tracks has most of a influence on my 'respect' for a Dj then how well they can mix together tracks.

In that context and based on what I consider to be quality dance music.

That being music that has a very accentuated 'timing' or Rhythmical structure, whilst also having a interesting progression to the Rhythm.

The best Dj and mixes of a constant quality of 2009 that can be downloaded from  Tribalmixes are-

Wally Lopez - Live @ Maxima Fm, La Factoria

Even though these mixes are also quite irritating because of the voice over radio guy and adverts throughout them.Easily editable though  ;-)

Their are many Dj's and mixes that have been up to this standard. But Wally Lopez mixes 9/10 times feature some of the best Dance tracks available on Tribalmixes &  are a reliable source of fresh new music.

Dynamic Movement of sound

I don't care if they can spin around whilst doing a head stand on the decks. It's the music that matters.

Of course music preference is very subjective and I'm not implying that Flower powders choice of music is flawed.

Just keeping things in their correct perspective.

Yes the important point is that people on tribalmixes made this happen.

Besides most 'Newbies' to dance/electronic music firstly become aware of the sounds through the popular radio stations that by taking advantage of unfair radio licensing hold a majority of the Airwaves. Then as they become more interested and wish to find sources of variety that don't tell you what you should be listening too in order to be cool. They become more selective & seek more of a individualistic source to find their soundzz.Shame though theirs not more of these selective listeners but popular commercialism likes to keep it's audience psychologically grouped so they can be easily marketed @.

Radio 1 is mostly for children isn't it?   Well at least it lets a narrow range of Dance music reach a broader audience. That station is sooo far up it's own licensed & commercial arse that it plays the same tracks over and over and over and over again for months simply so it can keep down it's royalty costs.

Thank variety that places like Tribalmixes exist that help spread the sounds of free consciousness to anyone who is lucky enough to have excess to the internet.

keep up the good effort guys :clap2:

And keep on moving

your words might have some truth in them about noobs like the music when they hear them on radio stations.
but most of the noobs i think know the genre from friends, rather than hearing on radio stations.

thanks and will try to keep the effort  :-D   :-P

So kind ! I do try but words are of very limited expression when it comes to describing what you hear in the music.

Don't forget the moving bit! Though of course moving is effort and that's 100% truth.

That's what is meant by subjective,Opinions like this are based only on our own experience. So your opinion may naturally differ from mine because being individuals we have our own unique ideas..

Truth on the other hand is not subjective. You as I & every other person reading this will in truth have to eat and breath Air in order to stay alive. We are all subject to gravity and 'not believing' in gravity will not alter this Fact.

This isn't subjective opinion that is right or wrong it is a physical 'reality' that those with sense live by or you Die by your own ignorance.

Natural law .

Hehe the jokes on them because they can't dance well on Drugs, their just off their heads thinking they can.

Dancing is a physical activity & like any physical activity, sports etc if you want to be the best you can be you don't mess with mind unbalancing substance's.

Though some drugs are better for dancing than others.Alcohol is a anti-dance drug that ruins timing and coordination,  but it has a effect on people whom are a little 'uptight' & loosens their inhibitions so they feel more like attempting to dance.    :-D

Other drugs can open your mind to other possibilities, just make sure the side effects do not begin to out weigh any benefit you think they give you.Eventually they will because drugs side effects are accumulative, they build up over time.

A happy & free imagination is a far better alternative to a chemical that temporarily alters your sense's.

People take recreational drugs for pleasure because they want a change. The drug temporarily gives them that change.

You can change your life without drugs, though it may take longer it will last longer.

Anyhow everyone is free to choose unless your addicted that is, then your mind is imprisoned in a cycle of craving & relief from that craving.

Just take it in moderation if that's where your at ,for now.
