Drugs!, page 1

It's likely that Humans have been consuming recreational drugs for possibly millions of years.Cannabis sativa appears naturally in many tropical and humid parts of the world, so it's quite possible that our early ancestors in regions of Africa also consumed (ate) cannabis even before hominids evolved.

Now this thread is not about if Drug use is good or bad. As of course there is no black and white answer to recreational drug use. Though many people around the world know how to use drugs sensibly. Be it Alcohol,Cannabis or some other popular recreational drug. So drug use education should be a priority in order to help people either to choose to try any particular drug (or to not try drugs) and how best to avoid habit forming behaviour that can damage peoples health.

One of the big issues with recreational drugs  may come from the health problems associated with the carrier of that drug. For example, people whom like nicotine and get their kick from smoking tobacco often die of a smoking associated condition. Or people whom like Alcohol may have issues with obesity due to the large amounts of sugars in some alcoholic drinks.

The good news is that there are more modern ways to enjoy casual recreational drug use whilst avoiding the diseases that too many people acquire.

For example. The drugs Cannabis and nicotine can be consumed using electronic vaporisers.

https://www.davincivaporizer.com/

These units heat up the plant to a certain temperature so that the active ingredients (the drug) can be inhaled within water vapour (lungs are fine with a little water)  whilst not burning the plant ( Lungs suffer with smoke). Thus the user gets want they want (the high) without the stuff they don't want ( the nasty pollutants) .

I don't personally consume alcohol, but a user could avoid alcoholic drinks that contain a comparably high level of sugar.

As with all things in life a little bit of knowledge and self awareness can go a very long way if acted upon. Drugs are chemicals. They make people high because the chemicals act on parts of our body, quite often the brain and nervous system (because that's made from chemicals also).Unhealthy Drug habits may form because of ignorance of how drugs work.

So when a user first experiences any particular recreational drug they may experience something quite different than what they are used to ( these chemical wouldn’t normally be at those levels in our bodies). If this experience is particularly enjoyable the user may wish to want to replicate it by taking more of the drug. But the body can soon become adapted to using any particular drug. Thus if the drug is over used (drug abuse) it will cease to have the same effects.

Now if the drug user has also associated some psychological meaning to taking the drug. For one example out of many examples, maybe they were  born within a religious culture thus the high they experienced was interpreted by them as something spiritual, rather than chemical/biological. The user then may think that this particular drug is essential for them to gain a certain level of spiritual awareness. Thus they may continue to take the drug at larger quantities in order to try and re-live the experience and so a habit forms.

The healthiest approach would  be to take a break from using the drug ( days or possibly weeks etc dependent on the drug and individual). Thus prevent any addictive habits forming.

So be wise with drugs!. They literally do go straight to your head  (via the blood system) thus change your brain chemistry comparably quite quickly .

Exercise ( dancing :-) ) can have this effect also .

Also it's not a wise idea for young people (people whom have not yet grown into adult form) to take even  moderate drugs like alcohol, cannabis (nicotine is addictive-ly  a very strong drug, though as minimal psychological effects ) . As the brain in young people has not yet fully developed ( as in fully grown like the other parts of young peoples bodies). Its Not wise as there is very little scientific research available on the effects of recreational drugs on the developing brain. Thus you'd be rolling the dice of chance which isn't a good way to make reliable decisions.

Now there is a helpful chemical the body producers. The growth hormone :-) .

Also the anti-drug culture in some places does far far more harm than good.Anti-drug rhetoric is often completely contradictory, as some people whom are aggressively against certain drugs ( the ones they don't take) but are completely ok with the drugs they do take.

Using the actually evidence to form understanding  of drugs ,is the direction to take for individuals and society’s to free themselves of the ignorance based dangers of people abusing recreational drugs.

I think they recently legalised drugs (marijuana) in Uruguay, in a move backed by the U.S.. as a sort of experiment.. to see what happens..

All of us eventually align to the same stars above and share glints of magnificence whether we want it or not. Fleeting passages, conduits to further realms and higher dimensions pass through us like gravity and neutrons. Seemingly unable to contract the 4th world, we step through the 3rd to each, as good as we might be, suffering to reach it. Psychoactive, free minds full of datura, harmala, DMT and needlepoint or white fluff LSD. They each attack the body and mind upon first administration yet they somehow open unhinged, narrow pathways that allow respite from the human condition that has plagued mankind since the first day. These pathways are what some find so valuable, especially in the early days when those receptors are fresh and maladjusted. Governing and control is as crucial as a mountaineer's plan to scale Everest to reach the higher plains of consciousness. From the depths of other unworldly spacial beings, existing undisturbed for millions of our years, our communication to and from these being is either easily forgotten or we are yanked forcefully back down to the 3rd dimension.

This is our realm, where we dream, fuck, build cities and wage war. But according to Einstein and his theory of relativity, our world lay untouched by quantum theory never able to see each other. That's fits perfectly in our thin, sliced up realities because it shows us our age, just how young we are and our seemingly eventual path. Our questions of reaching the next step in human evolution should be slightly altered to reflect the timeline of history and regression. Changes, even as fundamental as an ants' colony, formed around a queen who amidst all the chaos, churning and procreation of eggs, is rarely ever touched. A forceful life of solitude.

These questions should propel us forward, step by step to those areas of enlightenment, forever shifting our curiosity. Exactly like olympic athletes, perhaps only some of us are fit for these unriddled questions. Maybe we are all fit but out of our contextual abilities. Perhaps purer levels of science will eventually unravel and decode those higher dimensions but just as an ant queens' chamber, we will lock it away from the others. This brings us nowhere except to faithfully copy history's troubled past, over and over again. Engineering has given us attention to detail, filled us with short-lived glimpses into what is possible. Geometric Fibonacci sequences flood our cities and paint our landscapes. Throwbacks to the 2nd world, proficient we are in the construction of such plains.

Concrete following design. Rebar stuck in between to glue it all together. It eventually fits piece by naked piece where we settle into rhythms of life for the most part, uncentered and out of contact from each. Where then do those questions, obsessive oriented, gurgling repressed areas unseen in most all's everyday lives, live? Perhaps it's the shedding process that sets us free. Hindered by cells and DNA, perhaps it's the human trait which defines us all, that set's us back, unable to ever see the other side. Perhaps we are, straight from the womb, untuned to higher frequencies. Unable to align through spiritual means a message to the others that inhabit the higher dimensions. For they are not gods but have watched our universe and Earth's forming some 4.5 billion years ago.

It is a valid notion that the universe has always existed and has never been young, no matter the point of view. Those questions that bring us forward could be deeply embedded in our genes and the plant kingdom is where these broad worlds exist. Being human, upon first arrival to certain extracts and compounds, we behave like only a child can. Merely only seeing patterns and colors never before witnessed before and we begin to play in these fields so easily. They are forgiving, yet delicate in nature. Our approach should be timeless, conditioning subtracted and without fear. Is it unreasonable to exact and chart these visits so when others decide that this huge voyage is where they need to be, can know their way?

Can we hurl each toward the 4th world and beyond, to witness the inhabitants and their constructs of reality in a way more precise method? Many books have described, cataloged, and gauged the subjective experience as well as specific compounds but few have given us a tour and guide map, intricate to these rarely visited worlds. Sometimes a dream, as sadly as they are forgotten brings into moments of existence that launches and propels our awareness, unscathed emotions and limitless potential, into view. This slingshots us for either a brief moment in time or works forever, depending on what star your planet orbits. Ah sweet patterns and colors, or false representations from the side effects of these drugs trying to align. Simple tricks and sidetracking recreational habits from childhood, we may only chose to scrape the surface of the overwhelming experience.

Some have been taught and are masters of thought and concentration such as a lifetime of  buddhist methodology can provide. Capable of controlling body temperature and awareness levels to the point where focus is as exact as a quantum microscope, observing phenomena predicted decades ago, these monks historically have never been exposed to these compounds.

Whilst the previous post is very interesting and varied. The thread is more specifically about recreational drug use.

A few fundamental (evidence based) suggestions (science doesn't command people to follow the evidence)  for people whom do choose to take drugs.

1. Any drug only works because it effects the takers biology (even when it's a placebo effect).

2. According to the general scientific consensus (based on fossil, genetic, archaeological, morphological evidence)  humans have evolved with larger brains than most other animals (not all. Some Whales for example). Though human brains are objective (A physical object in our skull) the conscious mind (the part we are aware of)of our brain is capable of subjective thought( hence, we all have individual identities, dreams etc).

3.Certain drugs (especially those that contain a psychoactive substance.e.g. cannabis) can alter our brain chemistry so that we perceive (see, sense etc) things differently than when we are not under the influence of the drug.

4. The important point to bear in mind is that whatever you perceive or imagine when taking a drug (or not) is not objective reality. It is a subjective reality.i.e- Objective reality is massive (maybe infinite) and complex (e.g - Billions of lifeforms (inc micro organisms).
However, our subjective reality (how we perceive reality as individual people) can be used to formulate a working model  of objective reality.

5. The method used to measure objective reality is science (The scientific method). It's a tried and tested method (based on the collection of evidence by observing and recording the things that happen )  that enables a individual to form certain levels of confidence  of what perception is actually more real (happens in reality.e.g.Plants produce Oxygen that we breath in.We breath out Carbon Dioxide that plants take in.Photosynthesis & Respiration))  and what is imagined (e.g. The vision (eye sight) can easily confuse the brain into imagining delusions especially when its dark)

To sum up.If you are experimenting with any psychoactive  (mind altering)drug. Know the drug (it's a chemical) and have some understanding of your own biology (your made up of chemicals). And don't get sucked into a nice dream or nightmare that you believe to be real because your reasoning capability isn't  informed by a frame work built on logically understanding (science).Learning to think and do new things is  a very healthy "habit". Avoid the doctrines of repetitive thought.

Fantasy is fun when understood for what it is. But talking to imaginary voices in your head, that you take as something "other" than your own mind can lead to some serious problems for yourself and society.

Enjoy  the music and be grateful as it's a fact that if your reading this on a computer you probably have many of the things (resources) that too many people are not so fortunate to have.

Peace!

Oh yes. And don't preach!    (I Apologise if any of this comes across as preachy?). Understand, learn from the experts in their subjects and help educate others so that they can pass on their understanding,

Yep the Vapes do the job nicely ;-). Not that I "need" cannabis. Just like I don't "need" sex (as a mature adult). Maybe cannabis is more of a psychological antidote to living on a planet where too many humans do so many cruel (selfish, greed etc) acts   :'-(. Though many humane people do kind altruistic, giving etc acts also and this is the true good behaviour that needs to  be nurtured more.. It's natural to be a little selfish sometimes. But when all you think about is the well being of yourself, well your missing out on a very deep emotion.

"I tried some... in my youth... they are bad"

What's "bad" about drugs is abusing them. I'll take a guess that you still take alcohol, yet like society in general, have conformed to the common view of not really categorising alcohol as a drug. And of coarse it is. Arguably the most damaging drug to many peoples lives, possibly due to the sheer amount of people whom use it in excess.

Psychologically alcohol maybe comparably rather "bad" as it disrupts/decreases the users self awareness (The alcoholic haze) and of coarse can course impotence and damage to vital organs if abused. However, if used sensibly alcohol can be used as a pleasant recreational drug.

Personally I prefer cannabis (eaten mostly). Like all drugs with psychoactive ingredients it changes your consciousness. Some enjoy this whilst others may not.
