it's on!! i'm happy to join the mega-happy crowds of UMF fans and pass the news that Ultra Music Fest preparations are on! in 2012 the festival, as a really prominent and irremovable part of Miami's Winter Music Conference, UMF will go 3 days this year, starting March 23rd on Friday and ending with amazing performances on Sunday the 25th of March. as usual, this is promising to be the biggest event of the year, with as much coverage as humanly possible with limited worker power on Sirius XM... i really want them to broadcast at least several tents simultaneously on multiple channels, but oh well, who am i to want stuff?

for those who're planning to go, prepare, the first batch of early bird tickets are about to go on sale, and is expected to disappear within days, or maybe hours.. these are the cheapest tickets, well, rather buying them now will be the least expensive, so be on the look out!

i'd like this thread to be an official UMF-goers thread with all the expected DJs listed here and maybe some other stuff. i'll start with a few videos they have posted on http://www.ultramusicfestival.com/ (page has over 170k facebook fans)..

one more to top it all off... always needed preception by an outsider.. an interesting unprofessional video by a party-goer, personal experience... they don't show such tripping naked dudes in official videos, that's for sure... =) crazy stuff...

and that's a bit of global friendship, solidarity and love in the air... and on the ground...

even the cops and emts get down... or get up high, and try to look cool there...

let's keep this thread going with some more videos and personal memories of Ultra's before this one...

as we all know, WMC is not just about Ultra Fest, it's a separate thing that actually includes UMF as the crown-like event, but there would probably be no UMF, if there were no WMC.. do i make sense? =) so here's an email i received from WMC organizers, it unveils some of the things to happen at WMC this (next - 2012) year/season...

Winter Music Conference (WMC) opened its 2012 season in South Florida today with the announcement of the Winter Music Conference 2012 dates. Winter Music Conference Week 2012 happens March 16 - 25, 2012 in Miami Beach, Florida.

For 2012, WMC plans to further enhance the WMC experience by delivering ten non-stop days of music programming in Miami Beach and Miami. This expansion will wrap the program week with two full weekends of parties and events. WMC Co-founder, Bill Kelly, explains, "Expanding the WMC dates was an easy decision given the high demand of artists, businesses and industry delegates. Hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops and every sort of possible entertainment venue are filled to capacity during WMC Week to the point where five days just wasn't enough."

New for 2012, WMC will be unveiling correlated segments of its industry program dedicated to music and fashion on its opening weekend and indie rock meets electronica programming under the WMC Rocks header on the closing weekend, in addition to its standard programming and events. More details will be announced over the coming weeks.

Currently the WMC industry badge is being offered at a promotional Early Registration rate of $275 (over 40% off the Walk-Up rate) until October 26th, 2011. Registration includes access to panels, seminars, featured Q & A's, the 27th Annual IDMAs, WMC official poolside events, South Beach Sessions, Record Collectors Show, WMC Rocks, trade show & exhibits, workshops (with the exception of the Remixing and Editing Workshops), DJ Spin-Offs, VJ Challenge as well as complimentary or reduced admission to WMC official and sanctioned events for the full ten days of programming.
