Armando Rossi has helped play an important role in the Australian dance scene both as a DJ and as a founding developer of Rhythm & Soul Records, one of Australia’s most upfront and prolific music stores. Having headlined with the likes of Anthony Papa, John Digweed, Steve Gerrard & Stacy Pullen to name a few, Armando has enchanted many an audience with his wide range of deep underground Tek, House and Soundscapes. Armando cut his teeth as a DJ with his first residency back in 1993 when a friend of his was installing a sound system at a new underground venue called “Fantasia”. Subsequently his friend had forgotten to bring a few tunes to “test the sound” so he rang Armando who came down and played a 2 hour set! Little did he know that the head promoter of the club was there listening and offered Armando an instant residency…From there on the rest is history, playing at various venues around Australia, and from the UK to KL. In the late 90’s he had his own KissFM show “after-hours” which pushed the envelope for underground dance sounds. Though today at age 33 Armando has slowed down just a “little” he still actively plays regular guest spots around Australia and overseas.
This is a “condensed” version of what a typical 4-5 hour set from Armando would include, covering many styles, sometimes his sets would even include indie and rock, through to ambient soundscapes and floating breaks. So think laterally & enjoy the journey!
